Transitioning RN Career from patient care

I am transitioning my nursing career and I wondered if some of you would share about your experiences in moving from patient care to others roles in the medical field.. All comments appreciated... Thanks in advance!

What kind of info are you looking for? I am no longer in direct patient care and work in professional development. I felt sad to be leaving, relieved to be leaving, scared of doing something new and insecure about no longer being at the bedside. I also worried I would regret giving up 12 hour shifts.

So far all of that has worked out for the best possible interpretation and I definitely do not regret leaving the bedside, though I do miss it at times.

Thanks not.done.yet for your response! I am trying to specifically find jobs ( preferably part time) that RN's can transition into without major added expense where our license qualifies us for training/transitioning into a new career away from bedside nursing. I am currently enrolled in a basic medical coding course and hoping to eventually attain a telecommute, medical coding, HIM, Utilization Review or Auditing job . I am just hoping to get an idea of these roles or others that might be available to RN's.
