go to www.ncsbn.org to see if NH and MA are compact states. If you continue to live in one state but work in another you can have one license, if both are compact. However, you have to have a license for the state in which you have a permanent address. If even one of the states is not compact then you have to get a license for each state.

There's no such thing as "transferring" a license from one state to another. You apply for a new license in the new state (and still have the old license, unless you are moving from one compact state to another). Look at the state BON website and look for the section on "licensure by endorsement." That's the process you are talking about (applying for licensure based on your already being licensed in another state, as opposed to applying for licensure as a new grad and taking the NCLEX), and all the info and forms you need should be there.
