Hello, Currently an RPN student sem 1B at Centennial College considering to transfer to George Brown College Sep 2013
When I applied for the RPN program Jan 2013 (last year), George Brown was my 1st choice because its closer to my home plus I was a pre-health student at GBC last year, unfortunately they refused to give me an offer because of competition but i received an offer from Centennial and decide to go to centennial.
Recently I received a call form the GBC admission office saying that they have a seat for me for Sep 2013, because they still had me in their record as a previous student of pre-health with a gpa above 3.0 and wondering if am still interested.
I'm really confused, I'm not sure if I should take the offer plus worried if I might lose credits that I got from centennial RPN program sem 1A&B and might go 1 sem behind.
Any advice please let me know.

How do you find the workload so far at Centennial? Since you are in semester 1B I guess you are in the flex program. GBC offers fulltime only so if you are finding it challenging now at Centennial with a lighter course load than it won't get any easier at GBC. You factored in distance as an issue and being at Centennial your placements will be around the neighbouring area where as for GBC your placements will be closer to down town. The nursing courses area not transferrable but maybe some effectives like your communications or general education might be transferrable. Your best option is to speak to your program coordinator but in the end the decision is up to you so go with what you think will work best.

What you need to do is contact gB and ask about the transfer of credits. They are the ones that will know.
Work load for the flex at centennial is fair and less course load. I like the arrangement for the flex RPN program, I'm doing very good I had over 3.5 gpa in sem 1A and that just motivated me to work hard for this sem 1 B only problem is the distance. I've thought about it a lot and it came down to the distance plus lighter course load and manageable or close to school heavy course load and I don't know how I will manage it. I think I will stay at centennial. May be inthe future after graduation plus work experience I can apply for the bridging in GBC
Thank you, I'll try that on Tuesday.
Keep up the good work! One thing you have to keep in mind is that the bridging program at GBC is with Trent University. Centennial's bridging program is with Ryerson. If you maintain a 3.0 at Centennial with no failed courses you are almost guaranteed a spot in the bridging program with Centennial/Ryerson.
Thank you toronto_nurse.
