Transfer or not to transfer?

Published

Hello, Right now i attend Lehman College trying to finish up my nursing requirements. Excluding this semester i have one more semester I hopefully will be done and be get a good score on NCLEX. Lately I've been wondering if I should transfer to Hunter because of it's reputation for it's nursing program, but I hear it's really tough. Should I transfer or play it safe? I've heard on rumor of 300 students applying for nursing in Hunter and only 80 getting in.

Help this is my life dream :nurse:

I don't like loans either but I am in the SEEK program at Lehman. If I get into LIU I will be alble to enter their HEOP program. Those program tend to be a little bit more generous with financial aid.

I really do not like Lehman that is why I have decided not to stay there. There are some excellent professors of course but I want to go to a place that has a set School of Nursing.

Have you finished all the prereqs?....or at least most of them?

Well after this semester i have org chem and micro bio left. Sadly I am not in the SEEK program =/

I assume you are going to take those classes in the Fall and you are going to apply for the Fall 2011 program?? or were you planning on taking those classes in the summer?

Apply to Lehman. My motto in life is "the worse one can say is no"....so hey you never know. However, apply to other places. You might be surprised at the financial help you can get.

Yep i am planning to apply for Fall 2011 at Lehman. I'll have a long wait. That's a great idea I'll apply to other places, you never know where else i may get accepted.

As far as I know in hunter you have to take an entrance exam for the nursing prog. Idk but if Lehman offers a BSN in nursing than there is no reason to transfer to hunter. The only reason I would transfer for is from an asn to a bsn . I am going for an asn and planning to do the RN to BSN afterwards which is much easier to get into. Good luck.
