Hey guys
I currently go to Hunter College . I went there for nursing, then realized how hard it is to get in to the program. I applied to College of New Rochelle for Spring 2014 but I'm being really pessimistic and think I'm not going to get accepted. The reason: I took Anatomy and Physiology at Hunter and got a "D". I did well on all others. But A+P really did bring down my GPA.I still have to take microbio, nutrition and A+Ps. Right after graduating high school, I went to Mercy college and had a GPA of 3.5. At Hunter my GPA is 2.5. I know there is the TEAS exam and everything. People who got accepted at CNR, what was your TEAS score?
Thanks in advance guys!

Hello Katpil. Getting a D in any course is considered failing by nursing school standards. Nursing schools require that you have at least a C or C+ in nursing pre-reqs before you can even be considered for admission. When I went to BMCC, I had to re-take Psych just because I got a B. The limited number of seats allowed them to be extremly picky in who they accepted into the program. I was eventually accepted into BMCC's nursing program, as well as the Hopfer School of Nursing, and I actually ended up going to Hopfer because I liked their program more. I would suggest that you re-take your A&P courses for a higher grade; if you talk to an advisor, they will tell you the same thing.
Since you got a D at Hunter, perhaps you could take them at another CUNY school like BMCC? It is very easy for CUNY students to go to other CUNY schools as non-matriculated students once you are in the CUNY system. You are allowed to take courses at other schools and transfer your credits to the school that you are matriculated at. The A&P courses at BMCC were very good. I got A's in both.
The College of New Rochelle is private, so they are a lot more flexible when it comes to admissions, however, I know a D is definitely not considered passing.
Good luck!
