Hello everyone!
I'm originally from Nigeria but I got my bachelor's of science in Nursing in the Philippines. After graduating I enrolled for a master degree in public health and got done less than a year ago.
The Philippines don't allow any other nationals to take their local RN exams, so I didn't take their local board exam. Right now I'm working as a teacher in China.
I want to take an Nclex RN exam next year, I have gone through most states BON requirements, one of the requirements for a foreign trained is to be an RN from their home country or where they were trained.
Is there anyway I can take Nclex without me being an RN either from my home country or where I was trained?
Are there states that doesn't require applicants to be an RN from their home country or where they were trained as a requirement for foreigners?
Any suggestion will be really helpful.
Thanks

Can you send me a dm. Can't send one. Don't know how to connect with u guys. Your Philippines degree ain't a waste. So many things u can do with it. And truly foreigners need to stop studying health related courses in the Philippines. It's too emotionally draining and time wasting.

I am sorry about what you are going through. I sponsored my sister through her BSN in the Philippines and and it has been 3 years now since she graduated without the exam and is not able to practice in Tanzania. Very sad that they can let you go through the program knowing that they won't let you take the exam.
Any way here is what I did for her. She has applied for NCLIX through Applyready for the New York state board exam. I found this to be the easiest, shorter process and cheapest. If I can I will post attachments that will help you. https://www.rachellallen.com/apply-ready
She applied through Rechelleallen review center on February and got approved to take the exam on this month of April.
Hope this helps
By the way she is from Tanzania and has submitted proof from the Tanzanian nursing board names of Filipino nurses that are working in Tanzania, But still no luck. Apparently there is a foreign affairs department within the PRC that is blocking her even though she was given an OK to go back in the Philippines to take the exam back in January. So now she is preparing for the NCLEX.

Nigerian nursing council can't do anything about it without ministry of Education.
