Trained outside US and doesn't have local license

Published

Hi everyone, I really need help. I got my BSN in the Philippines and wasn't able to take the nursing licensure exam there because we have to go here in US a week after my graduation. I am currently here in WA state and planning to take NCLEX. Are they going to allow me to take the NCLEX though I dont have a license in the Philippines? I know most of the board of nursing require it. Pls help. I will really appreciate it.

Have you looked at the requirements for the BON website for International trained nurse?

I also graduated in the PH. I didn't take the local board either but I didn't have a problem applying to NCLEX. I also know that it isn't even required. I had lots of people telling me that it was and I even read that it was listed on the requirements and if you weren't a local passer you had to include a letter with your application on why and I did, no problem.

I applied to Texas btw.

Each state has their requirements and some are stricter than others. Always best to speak to state BON you wish to live and work in
