Tpapn iop

Nurses Recovery

Published

Hi

i was just wondering what to expect in being approved to work when I start tpapn. From what I understand I can return with permission from my mental dr and iop class. I want to do an iop spread out over 6 months. Can the iop approve to return to work at any point?

Also am I allowed to choose my own iop program.

The 6 month one fits my schedule.

Any my information is appreciated

Omg I would've gone crazy if I'd had to go for 6 months! Mine was 8 weeks. MWF, 9:00-noon. They did try to convince me to continue after the 8 weeks with their once a week "after care" but tpapn didn't require it so I didn't.

There's a tpapn form your IOP counselor has to sign to ok you to go back to work. I think I had mine sign it about 1/2 way through. After we'd had a couple individual meetings and I'd "proven myself" by speaking up during discussions and showing I was thinking things through, not just sitting there because I had to attend.

I stayed away from the ones that had special sessions where they wanted your sponsor to attend with you. My "sponsor" was just a friend who I had asked if I could use her name.

I also considered distance from my house and traffic, cuz I was going right during morning rush hour!
