Who's applying? I'm so nervous!

I live 40mins from Towson, you should hear from them soon!

I live about an hour and a half away from Towson

Everyone, let's send good vibes toward bsn-hope's direction!!! :x3:

Also, I wonder how kirstens is doing too? kirstens, if you read this, did you get in and have you received any word on getting a scholarship from Towson yet?

amandac21- I'm in the same boat with you. I submitted my application last weekend. I had to wait because of finances. All told, the nursing application, TU application, and transcripts for CLEP & TEAS, and school transcripts added up to $189! Good thing it paid off!

I was not expecting a nursing school decision so quickly! I guess I need to send in my deposit and hope I get admitted to TU. It'd be nice if I got my decision before the deposit is due. I'm not expecting that, though. Needless to say, I'm not telling my employer for a long while. It's a hard secret to keep. But I need to keep my job for as long as possible. I don't want them to get nervous and try to push me out the door.

Thanks for the encouragement littlemango! I still haven't received anything and Brook Necker hasn't responded to my voicemail. I'm thinking this has to do with the letters being sent out before I could inform them of my new address. I plan on stopping by TU tomorrow. Keep your hopes up for me everyone! :)

Hi bsnhope,

Having moved around a lot, I know it can take up to two weeks for forwarded mail to reach your new address. You may want to call the post offices- both the branch near your old home and the branch near your new one. Sometimes, they can be helpful in locating missing mail, or flagging something, or making sure it gets to the right place. (You would think that would be a given, considering it's their job, but, we all know it doesn't always happen that way.) They may not be able to tell you anyone, but it can't hurt. I've found myself waiting on mail, thinking something was missing, only to call the post office and have it found there. I hope you can resolve this!

I finally got through to the nursing department by phone and they were going to mail me another letter to my new address but then I asked if I could just pick it up (I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER!!!) They had to get Brook Necker's permission first. I was called back and told that she said I could go pick it up tomorrow. So tomorrow afternoon I'll find out!

Much luck to you bsn-hope!!!! Gosh, the anticipation must be so great! Tell them the ladies from allnurses say hello! Haha! :woot:

Random question- have any of you visited the discussions for any of the other topics on allnurses? I mean the ones unrelated to school. From the ones I've gone to, it seems a lot of nurses are bitter, mean, and very much into putting other people down to assert their place. What a contrast to the support we've shown each other on here! I really hope we don't end up like that. It kind of makes me wish I had chosen another field. If that is what being a nurse does to a person, then we made a bad choice! I have no tolerance for that sort of behavior.

I'm with you on that afowler77. I've been to some of the other posts and I've seen alot of nurses put others down for their opinions, perhaps being a little harsher than they should because of the anonymity of the internet. I've also thought about going into another field, but then again life will have people who won't agree with you or like you, so this is the best time for me personally to develop a thick skin. (I have very thin, flubbery, wimpy skin hahaha!) My mom is a nurse as well, and sometimes I can't believe how thick-skinned and harsh she is sometimes with her coworkers and GNAs. But, I guess, when it comes to peoples' lives, you've got to be a little rough with your coworkers to ensure that things go correctly in the workplace, regarding patient care. (But still, there are other ways you can approach things other than going berserk all the time... Haha!)

I surely hope these troubles won't turn me into someone bitter though... That's just not me... Unless I don't get enough sleep... :saint: (Hehe!)

Thanks for the support, I will be attending Towson Univetsity's Hagerstown Campus as a Nursing Student this Spring 2015!!!! I'm so thankful to God and so glad I found this thread because it's a cut throat kinda world but you all are really on the same team. ?

Now I just have to finish Microbiology ugh! Haha
