Touro Nevada Nursing program information

Published

Hello, I'm new to the forum I've been reading the forum for a while but just made an account, I'm currently finishing up my nursing school prereqs and starting to look into nursing programs. I've been looking at Touro Nevada's BSN program and while it is expensive it is done in consecutive semesters rather than having the summers off which would allow me to graduate and begin working sooner which I like the idea of.

They also offer 3 start dates a year so I could begin soon after finishing my prereqs. On the other hand I've had a hard time finding much first hand experience info (mainly here on the forum) about Touro especially from the past few years, one thing that alarms me is that when I looked up Nevada NCLEX pass rates Touro's last records of NCLEX pass rates were in 2013 and the whole 2014-15 years there are no records on them; here is the link to the records: NCLEX Pass Rates | Nevada State Board of Nursing. So my question is, has/is anyone currently enrolled in the program/graduated from the program in recent years and has any information on what is going on with this and also how did you like the program? How was the workload, professors, overall feeling of preparation to become an RN?

One last thing is I see that Touro's accreditation period ends in June 2017, if I was to start in the March 2016 cohort June/July 2017 is right when I would be graduating, does anyone know what might happen to those who were graduating in that cohort if Touro were to lose accreditation right upon the graduation. Would this affect the graduates ability to further go on into a Masters program or would they be fine since the program had accreditation all through their education? I realize these are pretty specific question and will most likely require further research on my part outside of the forum, I will be contacting Touro soon for information on my questions but I thought it would not hurt to start here. Any help in appreciated!

did you ever end up at Touro?!
