Hi all, I was intent on not using a prep course to study for the upcoming CRNE in October 2014, but because I will be working full-time, I decided having a fixed program to help me study would be beneficial to me. This will be my first time taking the CRNE.
I am trying to obtain more information about the Toronto School of Nursing crne prep course. Unfortunately, their early bird pricing ends tomorrow and the office is closed until Monday. Seems a bit strange due to their dates, but can you guys fill in some gaps of information?
Are the instructors licensed RNs?
What does the full money-back refund entail? (Usually for these kinds of offers, there are tons of loop-holes)
For the 11-day program, is it 10 days of lectures and one day of mock exam?
Are there online test banks of questions?
How big are the classes?
Thanks in advance!

I took a class at TSON, as well as one offered at Ryerson where I went to school and felt it really helped me. The instructors are RNs and all work in clinical practice which really helps because of all the practical clinical examples. The only thing I regret is that I didn't take it right away before I failed. A couple of my friends took both courses and they all passed, which is why I decided that I needed some help with my studying. I found it to be helpful and it helped me feel more confident to write it after failing it twice before. Mock exams are on the last day and they do have online tests you can do to. That said, if you want a course that is shorter, there is also the Primed two day preparation course. Although I didn't take it lots of my friends did and they all said it was helpful in assessing what areas you're weak in. Not sure about the pass guarantee for TSON because I was too focused on passin! Remember you have to fail to get it back and that really wasn't an option for me. That all said, take it from someone who failed before, if you're taking the October exam I would highly suggest that you quit your full time job and start studying on a daily basis. I failed my first two attempts because I was working full time too in the hospital I did my consolidation in and didn't spend enough time studying. I would also buy a lippincotts or another question guide and practice questions on a daily basis to help with your comprehension. Study the answers to see where you went wrong and this will help you when you do your patho refresher. Study 5 hours a day and you should be good. Again I highly recommend that you quit your job if you can and put all your effort into passing the CRNE. IF you can't for financial reasons then please be organized and study on a daily basis. I wasn't organized enough. Anyways good luck and god bless!

I am IEN and the Toronto School of Nursing class helped me study too. I took the class with my two friends and we all stayed at the backbackers lodge down the street which made it easy and we could study together. My class had about 15 people which was good because we all asked lots of questions and could meet with the RN after class. We all passed but we put in lots of studying. You will not pass just taking a course and working alot, so please study like the other poster said. I would take this class if you are an international nurse because it helped clarify some things about nursing in Canada and helped me organize my study because I was out of school for a long time. For pass guarantee you must attend all classes with no lates and do all tests and pass them. If I were you I would get a personal RN tutor because you are working all the time. You can have your tutor come to your house a few times a week or meet them, which will help you stick to your study plan. My friend could not come to a preparation class because she worked too, and had a pinoy tutor who works in a Scarborough hospital. He is also teaches RPN and RNs and if you like I could give you the name and number. I would also buy Mosbys and Lippincotts because they have lots of questions.
