Hi all, I was intent on not using a prep course to study for the upcoming CRNE in October 2014, but because I will be working full-time, I decided having a fixed program to help me study would be beneficial to me. This will be my first time taking the CRNE. I am trying to obtain more information about the Toronto School of Nursing crne prep course. Unfortunately, their early bird pricing ends tomorrow and the office is closed until Monday. Seems a bit strange due to their dates, but can you guys fill in some gaps of information? Are the instructors licensed RNs? What does the full money-back refund entail? (Usually for these kinds of offers, there are tons of loop-holes) For the 11-day program, is it 10 days of lectures and one day of mock exam? Are there online test banks of questions? How big are the classes? Thanks in advance!

Oh, well, I didn't do my undergrad at U of T, so I had to fill out the OUAC application. I didn't know you can apply internally, because I did a grad program there as well. Hmm.

Thanks jbethune for that important piece of information. I guess I'll get mine next week due to the Easter long weekend. I checked the ouac web page and the admission offer shows up now, did it for you?

That's great, that's similar to the situation I am currently in. I have a career now but the jobs are so scarce right now, and there's too high of a surplus in people like me (teacher). I originally was going to be a nurse and now that I have had three years to really think through my decision and save up some money to go back to school, I think I'm making the right choice for my long term future.

i haven't gotten my letter yet, i am also getting very impatient and anxious about it. the ouac website doesn't even show any decision, how can i accept their offer if there's nothing to accept officially? they gave me just two weeks? (but according to the email, it says two weeks after the "official" date of acceptance? what does that mean!!) congrats! well honestly i think it depends on what grad program you are planning to go into. i also did another post-grad type program after my undergrad, but i feel at least with a bachelor of science in nursing, it's not a completely "useless" undergrad. you get some real usable skills to put on a resume, and more direct clinical experience as opposed to just research in a lab. my first undergrad was a b.sc, that seems to be useless these days in getting any kind of job!

Yes it took about a day for the uoft page updated to "Accepted" for me. On the email, it says I have two weeks to accept the offer or they will give my place to somebody else on the waiting list. Your mail hasn't come yet? I was expecting it today, but nothing.

I just got an email from uoftnursing and they have accepted me! Oddly enough, on the online web application, it says my application is still to be reviewed, so perhaps, it's not the best mode of checking our acceptances?

Congrats jbethune!! I hope it's the program you wanted for your first choice? I emailed both York and Bloomberg, and both are quote "continuing to send out acceptances until July". So I guess we all just have to wait patiently! jbethune, did Bloomberg give you a specific date at which you have to accept by?

When exactly is the open house?

Hey guys, I was looking through my old Nursing applications, and I posted the wrong dates of acceptances. I received offers from York University in January, University of Toronto on March 18th, and Western on June 1st. Has anybody heard from York for early acceptances? I'm surprised I haven't heard back from them. I'm eagerly waiting for anything in March!

haha me too sister! in 2009 when i applied for both uoft and york, i had all courses except the physiology prerequisite. i was conditionally accepted by both, took the physiology course at york (uber easy by the way) in the summer. now (in 2011), i see that york now has a philosophy requirement as well. so once again, i'm in the boat of not having all my pre-requisites but i'm hopeful that i will be again accepted conditionally. if i do get accepted to both, i will definitely go to uoft. i live near york but i know the network of hospitals (uhn i think) is better and stronger if i get a job (hopefully of course). my dad works in the it department in one of those hospitals, and personally i would just like to work and live downtown toronto.

I am also waiting on two schools, York and University of Toronto. I applied two years ago, and I got accepted into York pretty early, I think it was around late February, UofT was around April, and Western was around March. For those with higher gpa's, I think York sends out acceptances pretty quick.
