Hello everyone,
I have to write a scholarly paper about a "family experiencing a complex health challenge". I have to choose my own topic for this paper. Could anyone please give me some ideas or suggestions?
Thank you in advance.

1. What topics interest you? What areas are you interested in working after graduation? Peds? OB? Psych? Adult med/surg? Community Health? etc.
2. Are there particular conditions that interest you? Cardiology? Transplants? Trauma? etc.
3. After you have narrowed it down a little by identifying a few possible focus areas... browse some nursing journals that cover those types of topics. See what information is available. See what interests you in the articles you find. See what attracts you and and appeals to you as you skim through the journals. That will help you narrow it down even more.
Thank you for responding to my posting..

Well, why don't you search the literature to see about psychosocial issues associated with chronic renal failure? Might help you to narrow down your topic.

Great! Those answers start to narrow your topic down -- and eliminate many, many fields.
So now you can focus on the various types of chronic renal problems. I suggest you find a few jounals and articles that deal with topics related to patients with renal disease. Do some searching on topics such as renal failure, dialysis, etc. and see what you find about the lives of those patients and their needs that will interest you. See what specific topis are supported by enough research to support your paper and meet your assignment's requirements. Of course, also consider which specific topics draw your attention the most. That should give you a good paper topic -- one that interests you AND for which you can find the literature needed to meet the requirements of your assignment.
It sounds like it's time to get your nose in the literature either by browsing in a health sciences library (often better for this type of browsing) or browsing online.

Allogenic cord blood transplant, I'm going through it now and I tell you it is complex, and good for a paper because it is still considered research study /experimental.
