Just got in from my NYS CNA certification test. I know I passed the written test. Skills wise, I had perineal care, weight, and range of motion lower extremity.
I know I did weight and ROM fine. I did perineal care fine, until I forgot to change the spot on the washcloth for each stroke! Argh!! How could I forget? On the skills checklist, there are 22 steps for perineal care, so I missed 2 steps because of not changing the spot on the washcloth. Is there a chance I'll pass?
I wont be able to get my test results for 5 business days, and I'm already dying to know, one hour later!
Thanks in advance.
Just found out I lucked out and passed my test!!

Hi, I'm a LNA student halfway through my class and I read your post when you had taken the skills part of the test, ( Congrats for passing by the way).. It made me think..... When you did the perineal care, please say it was on one of the dummies. My instructer told us that the test observer will be bringing in a real person to act as our patient, and the thought of doing perineal care on an "actor" would not be very comforting, lol.
Thanks!
Yes, Peri care is a skill done on a dummy!!
