Took the NLN-Pax-RN / Anatomy I didnt fair so well...should I retake it?

Published

Well I took the Pax-rn in May of this year. I didnt fair as well as I would have hoped. I passed lets just say that. I am applying to the College of Dupage and have heard high scores usually get in over average or somewhat passing. So I am wanting to take it again but dont know if I can put myself through it again. I have almost all the geneds and pre-reqs I need to enter the program just not the high score. What do you guys think should I retake it again? Mind you I also have to wait until December due to a six month waiting period and I am also 5 months pregnant so I will have a new born, along with a 21 month old.

In addition, to that question is this I got a C in my A&PI. I wonder if that will affect me also. ALL my other grades are B's and A's. So I still have a high GPA overall. Should I retake the course too? The two required classes to apply are Chemistry and Anatomy & Physiology ! I am doing very well in Chem so I am thinking Ill be getting an A. So Ill have an A and C as the two required pre-reqs and the low score.

In addition, again because Im pregnant I just cant get up and go to school because most the classes end after I deliver the baby!!!

Help!!!

Have you taken a look at the ADN Admission Worksheet yet? I don't quite understand how to determine GPA calculation.

The max. number of courses that will count is 8.

1. English

2. Speech

3. Physical/Life Science

4. Math

5. Humanities and Fine Arts

6. Social and Behavioral Sciences

7 & 8. Global/Multicultural Studies or Contemporary Life Skills

Yeah I was confused too. I don't know if I should take comfort in knowing I have almost everything on there or start to really take the NLN pax really seriously to improve my app. I just wish they would put a number saying if you get these you'd be let in etc.

On another subject. .. Have you taken the CNA course?

How many points do you think you'll have if you *don't* retake the PAX? It doesn't seem as though you'll have much more of an advantage, even if you score higher than the 65th percentile in all areas.

Yes, I took the CNA course over a year ago

Im retaking it because I heard it could matter when they decide. Do you wanna pm me and then you can im if you have yahoo. Because I'm kinda stuck on the gpa points and maybe when can share some study tips.

I just sent you a PM.
