Took NCLEX 6/18... Ugh

I sat for NCLEX yesterday and it shutoff at about 243 questions. (somewhere in that area) I had about 22 SATA, 3 calculations, 1 "put in order", several medications, and a good majority of priority questions. I noticed during the exam that I seem to have "repeat questions" that were re-worded differently but looking for the same response. I am assuming that I missed these thinking, why would it ask me twice? Anyone had a similar experience in any of these aspects? I feel like my world is crumbling because I used Kaplan, did well over 2,000 questions, studied my bottom off and feel like I failed. Around question 180 I started to kind of freak out and i'm not sure if I recovered. I sat there for 5 hours and 57 minutes! And I think because I noticed that I was running out of time, I started to rush. It was a terrible experience... a little encouragement is needed, and greatly appreciated. :cry:

I hope you got the "news" by now. Wish you good luck and hoping you passed! Let us know. If the predicament is otherwise, keep your chin up and try testing again soon! My best regards to you and your hard work in studying!

i took mine too on the 18th at 12 pm, i was early. i had 83 or 84 questions, but only 5 SATA's???? i noticed the radiation questions came up frequently for me like about 5 times....so i was thinking i was getting that wrong. i had a mixture of all kinds of questions...glaucoma, heart failure, bowel obstruction and i guess for them i was only asked once so i dont know if i answered it right, the only thing i am leaning on right now is the pearsonvue trick...i hope it really does work....

I was trying the "trick" but my results came up first on the Ohio board of nursing site. Idk where you are from but, maybe check there too if possible?

i am trying to check the massachusetts board of nursing webisite but i cant seem to do it....their verify a license status page is not working....did you do the pearsonvue trick though?

Hmm... I tried the Pearsonvue trick and it says "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact etc...." So i'm not sure what that means really, I just heard that it wasnt a good sign if it lets you go all the way to where you pay. So maybe it's right since I did pass and it doesn't let me go all the way through? I hope you find out soon!

Hi and congrats on taking the test. I am scheduled to test shortly in MA and like you ladies i am using Kaplan. Could you let me know if Kaplan was helpful and what else you could have done to prepare yourself more for this exam by using Kaplan. I have not taken kaplan trainer 6 and 7 yet but my scores are as follows

Diagnostic=63 1=64 2=63 3=65 4=58 5=67 Readiness score =74. Take care!

Hey... the only thing I used for preparing for the NCLEX was Kaplan. I did 1,300 in the Qbank and my total average for the Qbank was 59%. I got a 57% on my Diagnostic and a 63% on the readiness. After I completed the kaplan course I waited 2 1/2 weeks to take the NCLEX. I basically just followed Kaplan's directions step-by-step. And section where I was below 60% I read the Kaplan book COMPLETELY in that section. I reviewed test 6 and test 7 before taking the exam, and I feel that it helped because there was a lot of the same material from those test on the NCLEX. I got a 63% on testy trainer 6 and a 57% on test trainer 7. I would encourage you to review those, and to do ALL of the questions in the Qbank, and then review them. I personally don't feel that the "decision tree" halped too much because I had a lot of questions that went from step 1 to step 5. But, I will say that the Qbank was very helpful!
