Took NCLEX twice and failed

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I graduated with my BSN a year ago in May. I took the NCLEX the first time in June and found out i failed with 75 questions. I took the NCLEX again in september and found out i failed with 265 questions. I had to find a full time job as a CNA in order to be able to pay for my student loans. One thing led to another and here i still am, still haven't taken it. I have been so mad at myself because everyone i graduated with passed their nclex either the first or second time and I really feel like a failure. I used HURST and UWORLD the first time. Then just UWORLD the second. Do any of you have any advice? I really feel defeated and have had to go to counseling because i have a really bad fear of taking this test and failing again. I feel really alone in this and like im never going to pass.

I feel embarrassed to tell people that I took the NCLEX-PN 11 times but now I think that my story can empower others. What I did was Uworld questions in the set by order. I made a list and checked off when I was done with the block of questions to keep track until exam day. Writing out rationales sucks. It’s time consuming and I didn’t even finish writing rationales for the last 2 blocks of the “Ethics” section and I didn’t even touch “Pharmacology”. Even after all that writing, Uworld helped with around 25% of the exam. The rest of my exam I felt like I was just doing my own judgement and here I am today seeing that I passed and with the maximum amount of questions. It’s 205 questions for the NCLEX-PN. I don’t know if my answer is for everybody but writing has always worked for me in the past but for some reason, I thought I didn’t need to do it for the NCLEX.
