Took Nclex Today!!!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Nclex was really hard for me, I mean I felt like I didn't know anything at all. I took more then 100 questions and got all type of questions 3 calculation question, 4 exhibit, 1 Ekg, 4 drag and drop, ~ 10 SATA, lot of infection, priority, delegation and 1 picture.

I used hurst review as my content review and also took Kaplan. But while I was taking exam I felt like my exam was way different then Kaplan. Can't really tell if Kaplan was easy or hard. But after taking the exam I do recommend that you focus on your content. B/c if you know your content inside out, it will make your life lot easier and less confusion while eliminating wrong answer. Ask your self do you really know the content, do you know what signs and symptoms happen with disease, what kind of drugs are contraindicated, what type of foods can person eat.

I got this pop up "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your Member Board for further assistance. Another registration cannot be made at this time." But I still feel like I failed it, lets see if its true.

Thank you everyone. Checked ohio BON and officially an RN!!! Sooooooo Happy. Here are few things that I would like to share.

1. I did take hurst review that was required by my school 6 months before I graduated( Dec 2012). I loved hurst live review, it felt like they taught me whole nursing school in 3 days. They taught me stuff in away that i remember and understood. I could critically think why BP will go high or pulse will go down.

2. I took Kaplan because I wanted to be sure that I pass exam the first time. My husband was not ready to pay for it but luckily didn't have to pay full price. I registered for in class and they had to cancel it b/c they didn't have enough student so they gave me 50% refund back. I also searched for online code which gave me $50 off initially. So overall my class was $232. Things about Kaplan: hated the book its so dry that I never used it. B/c i don't believe in memorizing w/o understanding the material. Qbank and qtrainer great resource to practice questions but personally compare to NCLEX it was nothing. I wasn't doing so hot on my exam I guess b/c i had to do more than 75 questions. So I got all type of questions which means just content type questions as well and trust me they were rough. Even easiest dieases seemed like what are you asking?

I personally loved saunders content review, so if you think you hardly learned stuff in school its best for you to go with Hurst. If you feel like you don;t know how to answer priority type questions do lacharity. Don't waste your money.

As far as NCLEX is concern it is very random, depending on how well you do with test they throw you questions. Good luck to everyone. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.
