The computer stops at question no. 75 and guess what? I got the good po up!!! OMG!!!!!
I got my results today ( 49 hours after my test began), and I PASSED!! :w00t: I also got the good pop up when I tried to re-register on Pearson Vue (wouldn't let me register). I had 75 questions, and they were all hard!! I had I think probably 40-50% "select all..." questions, which I hate
!! I only had 2 dosing questions, one of which was in mcg/kg/min, which threw me off. I had lots of prioritizing questions, a few delegation questions, and only 1 alternate format question, which was something to the affect of pick the picture that [name of drug] would be used on, and there were 4 pictures of skin conditions to choose from. I didn't have any hot spots, click and drag, or audio clips at all.
I felt as though the 2 dosing questions were the only ones I KNEW how to answer, although I think I screwed up on the mcg/kg/min one (it was an IV drug) because I think I forgot that the order was per minute and not per hour. Every single other question was a complete guess. I suppose the fact that I felt they were all hard was a good sign that I was doing well... otherwise the questions would have seemed easier (knowledge based stuff, if you took Kaplan).
I did take Kaplan, but I didn't really feel that the decision tree helped me, since not a darn one of my questions had answers that were either all implementations or assessments, none were Maslow questions, and none were ABC's (unless all 4 answer choices were ABC related). All my questions seemed to fall on that last brance of the decision tree, which I call the "You're Screwed!" branch, because you pretty much have to just make your best guess
I figured the 75 question cut off was a good sign, since all the questions seemed hard, but then again, I also had moments where I was sure I had only gotten 75 because I was bombing it so miserably, and all the questions seemed so hard because I was that stupid, and probably everyone else thought they were easy, lol.
Anyway, I hope this helps those of you who are waiting to take your test, or those waiting for your results. I took my test at 1pm Saturday, and had my ($7.95) results at 2pm Monday. Still nothing on the state licensing site, but that's ok, cuz I know I passed
congratulations jolly mom!!! you did it!!! i have my test this monday the 25th..and i am literally panicking ..i just got done with kaplan q trainers and they are sooo hard..i feel so discouraged ..ii did hurst review (online) and did all the chapters in prioritization n delegation and did the kaplan cd questions(green book) have another 5 days so can u please give me some suggestions..
Thank you Mydestinyy!! Here is the best suggestion I can give you... TAKE A NICE WELL-DESERVED BREAK I didn't do half of what I should have done with my Kaplan stuff, but mainly because I have a 2 yr old, a husband who is in school too, and a job. It sounds like you are more than prepared. I would seriously give your brain a break, and say a few prayers (if you're religious)- that seemed to help me!! :bowingpur
That being said, in retrospect, I think the LOD (Lecture On Demand) area of Kaplan (in your "toolbox" online) was the most helpful... going over CONTENT rather than questions. I would absolutely focus on that. It would have been helpful for me if I was stronger in pharm too- know your BP and heart meds, and your blood thinners. I also had a few questions on food/med interactions (MAOI, etc.). I would also know about salycylates. Oh and fluids (0.45 NS, 0.9 NS, D5, LR, etc). I had several teaching related questions too. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.
Best of Luck on Monday!!!

Thank You JollyMom.. I really appreciate your good thoughts n advice.. I am relying on my hard work and prayers.. I will surely appreciate any more suggestions..n Good Luck on your journey to becoming an awesome nurse
My NCLEX is scheduled for this Wednesday the 11th...I'm hoping after that is over I will finally FEEL like I've really finished Nursing School. Our final week of class and the pinning ceremony just seemed anti-climactic , and since then it really hasn't sunk in that I am done with community college and this crazy program. Just wondering if anyone out there has some brief last-minute pearls of wisdom as I descend upon my last 48 hrs of study time. Anything you wish someone would have told you before you took this test? I am totally thrilled to be at this point, finally! Trying to stay mellow and not let anxiety eat me alive :)
thanks! Amy Y LPN soon to be RN!!!
