Took NCLEX PN Aug. 30th.....85 quest.

Published

Hello fellow NCLEX takers. I sat for my boards yesterday at noon. The comp cut off at 85 !!! I was in such a daze the hole test. I seriously feel like I only knew 10 answers and the rest I guessed. I got 4-5 SATA, LOTS of rooming in, infecton control, pharm...but no math, and data collection quest. I left the testing center in SHOCK !!! I think im still in shock....I keep going over and over quest. in my head and its driving me crazy. Im from Cali and unfortunately I wont be able to receive my results until 30-45 days :0( via mail. My gutt is telling me that I failed cuz I noticed my quest. kept going back to rooming in and infect. control. Grrr...........................

hi all! :) im kinda new here although ive been reading people's post for a while now.. well.. i took my nclex pn yesterday! i got all 205 questions. :bluecry1: its making me nervous and anxious! what do you guys think? i felt like i knew nothing about the questions and answered 0 correctly. is that normal???? haha. thanks everyone! and congratulations to all who passed!

I've read various post where many had 205 and passed. I had 85 but swore I failed since I came out feeling stupid and believed I did not retain and info from school. I cried and cried and told everyone I failed because the test was nothing I could have prepared for I even contacted various institute that offered the "refresher" training. To my amaze and answer to my prayer...I passed. I pray that you too receive a passing grade.

Hello I just took my nclex pn test on 10/27/08 and it is now 11/2/08 and I live in california so I cant get the quick results i hae to wait until 4-6 wks but I feel like I failed the test because it shut off on me at 85 and I got alot of priorityand some sata and some meds but mostly priority. I'm reaaly stressing can some one help me to relax and let me know if shutting off at 85 is a bad thing and if it is did anyone ever fail the nclex pn with 85 questions? What are considered hard questions?

The only thing I can say is that it does not matter how many questions you got. The important thing now is to relax and just think that it is all in God's hands now. Just think positive and everytime you think about the results, pray to God.

85 is usually a good thing. Will be praying for you.

About 85% of people taking the NCLEX pass the first time they take the test. Those who get 85 questions therefore usually pass. I got 85 questions and passed. At first I had a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. It was awful, and to wait so long for the results, it made me go a little crazy.

Be positive about yourself. Remember that out of the 85 questions, 25 were not counted. They were just to see what level to give you questions on. So, you could have gotten only a little more than 30 correct in order to pass. I would guess that you probably got a lot more than that.

Aside from that, I have heard that the math calculations are considered the easiest questions, so, if you did not get any of those, the questions were geared to someone more knowledgible. I got one calculation.

Good luck to you, hang in there like the rest of us did. Put out job applications and study for work, not tests :)

thank you for those comments I sure hope I passed well Ill let you guys know when I get my results :nuke:

Nervous and anxious? That's normal! Just try to relax and wait for the result. My classmate took her nclxpn 2 months ago, got 205 questions. She thought she failed the test, but the result said she "PASSED".

you should get your result in about 4 weeks. I took mine 10/1/08, I got my result 10/28/08. I got 85 questions, a lot of sata and meds. I thoght I flunk the test, but I PASSED. Shutting off at 85 questions is a good sign. Just try to relax, keep yourself busy to get your mind off of the test. I'll be praying for you. :)
