Took the HESI A2 failed my first time help! Vocab and Anat

U.S.A. Texas

Hi y'all! So I took my Hesi A2 the very first time TODAY. Got high B's and all sections Math, Reading and Grammar, except Vocab and Anat scoring both 72%

My deadline for two of my schools I am applying for are next Wed the 31st. I feel like I rushed through anatomy and once I saw my score I hardly tried on the vocab I studied for these, used the Hesi A2 Review book 4th Edition, pocket prep and much much of quizlet. I took many practice test within an entire month everyday non stop studying. I know mostly everyone fails their first attempt. The only thing holding me back from applying is this TEST!!! I signed up to retake it this Monday the 29th.. I'm very nervous but I have no choice if I want to apply for this Fall. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice?? Also if other schools actually end up knowing if we retook the hesi unless we print them out a version of our most recent scores. (The schools I'm primaryly applying to can retake as many times) Would like to know if I should just brush up on Anat and just search more words for vocab?

I need a score of minimum 80.

HELP! Thanks so much y'all!!

Correct me if I'm wrong - but my understanding is that you have to have a 60 day wait period between HESI exams. Perhaps that is different depending on which state you live in? Where I am, we can take the HESI 3 times in a 12 month period, but each attempt needs a 60 day wait between. You may want to check the rules where you live because they may not accept your retake if the wait period applies where you are.

Anyway - it seems as if you have done everything you can on the revision. I would suggest searching around for free HESI quizzes online, and focus on the two areas you were weakest in.

Good luck!

Thank you! Yes these schools I'm applying to you can take them back to back I mean I've been studying but it was my first time and hoping to pass this next round. I've used pocket prep the hesi Edition elvsier book and quizlet

not sure if the version you took is the same as mine, but the version i took had about 30% basics bone and muscle(arms, legs, torsal muscles), so brush up a bit on that should help as for the rest of the question, i would just go through the a&p section over and over and don't bother reading the rationale because it slow you down, just skimmed through the question and the answers.

Vocab, i pretty much just narrowed the list down to about 20 that i had troubled with and left the rest out. there were some that weren't on the study guide so you just have to do your best on those.

I can tell you what I learned from my experience.

You are going up against people that want to be in nursing school just as much as you do, and are going to present their best scores. No one that entered my BSN class had less than 85 on any portion of their Hesi. Many had 4.0 GPA and a hesi average of 90+. The program that you're applying to obviously may have a different range of averages though.

You need to decide if getting that application in for the Spring is more important than having more time to prepare. Only you can decide that.
