tonsilectomy

Hi--I'm going to be having a tonsilectomy two days B4 thanksgiving, just wanted to know what my recovery will be like. I know that I won't be able to enjoy thanksgiving, but I wanted to do it sooner than later (over my xmas break). Anyhoo love to hear some of your feedback thanks.

I had my tonsils out when I was 25 and it was no picnic. Prepare for two weeks of throat pain! I had some bleeding 7 days post op...but thank God it stopped on it's own. My mom was so freaked out that she called 911 and I had to ride to the hospital in an ambulance!! :chuckle I would start preparing now by making sure you eat really well and take vitamins because you will not be able to eat much at all for a while afterward. Don't eat or drink any dairy products afterward because they will produce mucous.
