Hello all I have another thread about my failed math competency test. And now my professor is asking that I sign a "contract" it basically says that if I fail it the next time then im out of the program. My question is do I have to sign it ? What happens if I don't? Is there any loop hole around this? I am from a different era and don't understand these things, and im too afraid to ask her. Thank you.

Is their policy for failure and removal in your student handbook? If it is (and I imagine it is if this is something they want to do), I would think they are asking you to sign something more like a counselling statement than a contract. Counselling statement just means that you acknowledge you were told about the policy that you would be removed if you failed.
Your best bet is to check the policies. If the policy exists, not signing the form probably won't be a loop hole to help you.

Please don't be afraid. She is there to help you. You could bring a friend with you probably or ask for a copy of the form ahead to time. Schools had to institute these types of notices because students would deny having been told otherwise. From what I read on your other thread, this is your last chance to pass, is this true? Just email back for a copy of the form. Read it and ask someone else to read it. Go in there with your head high. You have been studying like mad, you have done problems, you have significantly improved your math skills, met with a tutor and just had a difficult time with labeling.
PS make sure you get a copy of what your sign (after you sign it). That is your legal right.
thank you all I am so stressed out!
I am not a betting woman but my money is on you. You are already a nurse as an LPN. Calculations for the RN add the more difficult equations but you have shown, in your last test, you can do it. Best wishes and positive thoughts!
