I'm off for my first day at school! Excited beyond words and fingers crossed that in 13 months I'll be an LPN. I'm a little apprehensive that I won't be able to juggle everything, so it will be interesting to see how it all works out.
Wish me luck!
*wipes forehead* I started school on Monday and man!! It's really exciting but really REALLY fast paced!!! I'm trying my best to stay ahead. Having CNA, pct or some form of patient care certification was required for my program so we all got checked off on those basic skills (ADLs) today. We started injections today and will start NG tubes and Enemas next week. I have lecture and lab for fundamentals and Pharmacology for this first 7 weeks. Lab: Monday- learn new skill, Tuesday-practice new skill, Wednesday- skill check offs (when we have to perform the entire procedure correctly. Pass or fail. We get two tries only!!) Thursday- finish check offs and do dosage calculations. Lecture: everyday. My Pharmacology is online. I am very overwhelmed already and it's only day 3. Just wondering how I'm going to retain so much information. But I'm also excited.
