To those already in a Bridge program...

I wouldn't worry too much, it all seems to come back quickly, especially if you had a good LVN program. I graduated with my LVN 8+ years before getting into the bridge and had not been in a true clinical setting for ~7 years, and it all came back as I needed it. The first semester was not as intense as second semester, but it got us back up to speed in order to progress through to the end. Good luck!!

The Bridge Program is intense but you will adjust and get back into it. I was an LPN for 23 years and did the Bridge Program and just finished and did well. I never worked in a hospital either so, just go for it and you will do well. There are many nights of crying and feeling like the year will never end, but it does and then it is all a blurrr! I agree with the above posters. Don't fret. I was out of LPN school 5 years before entering my LPN to BSN program. The schools don't want you to fail as much as you don't want to. I think if anything you will amaze yourself at how much comes flying back somedays when you are in class. Then there are those days that make you wonder how you ever got through the first time. Best advice I could give is to just enjoy yourself and take advantage of the learning process. The more you dread it or just want it to be over the longer it will seem like it is taking and you won't get the best out of it. And remember when you graduate -- All those companies that shut the door in your face for "just being an LPN" are going to be begging you for your time and attention. I won't graduate for 18 more months with my RN/BSN and I already have companies sniffing around. Stay focused on the prize and don't let anyone's strife or high school antics get in your way!!! Where is everyone going to school? I didn't qualify for a bridge program at the school I'm attending. The criteria was strict. Had to be an LPN for less than 5 years, gone to an approved school in this state and worked in acute care for at least 1 year in the last three. I didn't meet any of those so I'm starting from scratch. Not overly upset though, I think a good physical assessment course will be great review. Not to mention my gpa could use the A.
