Sorry, I'm not following your question well...... TNCC?
Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum is what that means to me.
Are you saying a local RN program has closed? and there are none at all in Virginia?

After having the one program close... you're having trouble???
Thomas Nelson CC - I called them almost a year ago because my DH had orders to NN, VA. I wanted to do the LPN to RN bridge. They said they had it, but your LPN had to be less than 5 years old!!! Well, I graduated 12 years ago. i was willing to stay here for another year just to finish it... But, his orders were pulled and we stayed anyhow...
Um - what did they tell you. It seemed to me they still had it. I was told Riverside Hosp still had their program, and MCI still offers LPN and now an RN program (BUT, their credits don't transfer - you can still do transition programs, you just have to start all over with your pre-reqs). And, from what I remember with your last post they have gotten QUITE expensive.
Seems those are your only options in that area... How far are you willing to travel? What about just going for your BSN (I know a LOT more time required). Is anyone willing to work with what you've already gotten from the school that closed?
I'm sorry... don't give up...
Says they still have it:

Here is the info for RIVERSIDE:

And it is at the hosp (used to be) so most clinicals are done right there.
I know it is a drive (1-2 hours depending where you are) - but here's one in Richmond:

Don't give up Ginger Snapp . I'm sure you will find a program that will work for you. In order to gain admission to these RN programs you will have to do some work and get pre-reqs done. I know for Norfolk State's Associate's degree program all you need is to be accepted to NSU and have completed Chemistry with lab, Biology with lab, General Math, and Algebra. If you completed these classes in high school then they will accept that. Their NCLEX pass rate is ok I guess. Here is website if you want to check it out: http://cset.nsu.edu/nursing/index.php/
Now there is Hampton University VA Beach campus which offers an accelerated BSN program that only takes 3 years to complete. They have had a good NCLEX pass rate for the last 2 years. I know if you are coming in as a transfer student you should have 15-30 transferrable credit hours done in college. The best way to make sure you are taking the right classes is to look at their nursing curriculum and take the general classes at your local community college. The tuition at the VA beach campus is much cheaper than the Hampton campus. Here is their website: http://cofvb.hamptonu.edu/programs/
I have applied to both Norfolk State and Hampton University and I'm still waiting to see if I got accepted . Now I'm leaning more towards Hampton University more because of their good NCLEX pass rate and I think I just want to go straight for my BSN. I really hope I get accepted.
At the end of the day you will choose the school that best fits for you. I would not give up on Riverside, they are an excellent school. Just go in there and show them your transcripts, take the entrance test, and see what happens. I hope everything works out for you and I wish you well. :)

you are right and Congrats to you! VA Beach is not that close-I live in NN (Ft. Eutis) and work in Hampton FT. I am rethinking everything I have to make big CHANGES and do what is best for me and in the process of getting a tutor -thanx again :)
I live in Newport News also, off of J Clyde Morris. I'm waiting for some things to work out and hopefully this summer I will be moving to Norfolk. I wish they had more nursing programs on this side of water but it looks like if you can't find one close to you then you have to travel and that can be alot. I also wanted to mention another RN program that you may want to look at. Sentara has a BSN program and you can take classes in Hampton because they have a learning site there. It only takes 2.5 years to get your BSN however in order to be eligible to apply you have pre-reqs completed. Here is the link to the website in case you are interested: http://www.sentara.edu/
I have spent months researching and looking up different nursing programs in the area. I know how the process can be and how anxious we all are to get into nursing school and become nurses. If you have any questions or need anything, let me know. I'm here to help :)
