Some tips:

In the book, find the scenarios. Memorize ABCD's primary survey, then E-I secondary survey. I practiced by going thru the scenarios doing this-- lucky for me it was exactly what you do in class. So I knew that. Yes, read the chapters. I usually don't read the book before a class like this one, but I read about 1/2 the book and found myself speedreading the chapters the night between TNCC! The instructors go over the chapters in class, but there were still things on the test they hadn't gone over. Good luck!! Cindy

tncc is a good course to take if you enjoyed that try enpc(emergency nurse ped. course) and btls(basic trauma life support) these are good for begining trauma nurses enpc is better than pals its more geared to er nurses

good luck

TNCC is a good course, but we have more courses and initials that there are signs

I completed this course last october and it has helped me immensely. Not much in there on A&P or trauma i hadn't come across before...coming from ICU background...just seemed to be presented in the right context.

Our facilitator told us that it isn't so much about what you can learn from a book but how you can use that knowledge when under pressure.

Cheers, Daniel
