TNCC Course next weekend-freaking

I'm reading through the material and I simply feel overwhelmed with the share volume of it all. Just feels like its such a volume of information and I don't honestly feel like I can go forward with any confidence.

I'm a first year nurse with 4 months experience(sadly all of which is in Long term care as my transfer to medsurg has been delayed till January) so my avtual clinical experience in acute/emergrency has been limited to my school rotations/

Any advice? Right now i'm just simply reading through it all and going to go back and review it(actual assessment/interventions) prior to starting the class. I know to focus on ABC/etc but beyond that...

Some are similar, the test covered a few in the sample but many where much more in depth. If you read the book and know the steps to the assessments you should be fine.

You're not expected to know everything. Concentrate on the frame work of the assessment. I really liked the class. I really like trauma too though, so it depends on your mentality. Your company is paying for this I hope! If i remember correctly it was a couple hundred bucks to take. Also, make sure it's one of those certs you get compensated for; I know of facilities that only compensate you for the certs pertinent to your department.
