I'm reading through the material and I simply feel overwhelmed with the share volume of it all. Just feels like its such a volume of information and I don't honestly feel like I can go forward with any confidence.
I'm a first year nurse with 4 months experience(sadly all of which is in Long term care as my transfer to medsurg has been delayed till January) so my avtual clinical experience in acute/emergrency has been limited to my school rotations/
Any advice? Right now i'm just simply reading through it all and going to go back and review it(actual assessment/interventions) prior to starting the class. I know to focus on ABC/etc but beyond that...
You're not expected to know everything. Concentrate on the frame work of the assessment. I really liked the class. I really like trauma too though, so it depends on your mentality. Your company is paying for this I hope! If i remember correctly it was a couple hundred bucks to take. Also, make sure it's one of those certs you get compensated for; I know of facilities that only compensate you for the certs pertinent to your department.

Some are similar, the test covered a few in the sample but many where much more in depth. If you read the book and know the steps to the assessments you should be fine.
