TMCC Fall 2011

U.S.A. Nevada

Does anyone have any idea when they will or if they have begun sending out the acceptance letters for the Fall? Its crazy to me that they wait so long to tell you. Makes it hard to plan!

If I get in, which I should know within TWO months, I will let you know for sure :0)

Bio you will basically find out any day now, or at the latest 2 months from now?! This is your best test for patience eh? Are you doing dissection team again?

Bristow: --- told me to just let it go for now, because no one will know for a while, until that first person rejects. She said it's typical of everyone to accept at first, but they sometimes don't realize the costs of immunizations, or maybe cannot get the financial aid needed to complete the program and opt out. As for dissection team: HECK YES I am doing that!

The news will come when you least expect it, I'm sure! I won't see you this semester, I'm up at Sierra in Truckee. Have a great fall, tell the family hi, and post when you get in! It was great communicating with you!

Thank you Bio63! Good-luck to you!

Could you please tell me about the dissection team? I would be interested to join. Thank you!!

Evike,

I am also in the Spring class, I dont live in Reno but will be in Tahoe next week 9, 10th. Not sure if I will have much time but will post if I do. Will be back around Sept when I take my CPR course...

Evike: As far as the dissection team goes. . you must have recommendations from your Anatomy and Phys. instructors as well as decent marks in the courses. I will not officially be enrolled in it but have been asked to work on the cadavers by the Instructor while I'm working in the bio-prep lab.

Hi Saundee 2011, I also registered for my CPR for September 10, we can meet at that time :) That would be great if by any chance you registered for the same date :)

Hi Bio 63, thank you very much for the information!

I have a question for everyone. I am working on getting all my requirements done, and not living locally I am wondering where they're sending us for the drug screens (can I make an appt, how long it takes, where, what kind of test etc) since I will have to make a trip to Reno just for that. Or maybe combine with my CPR trip. Thanks all!! Good luck getting all the requirements done :)

Hi Saundee2011,

Did you receive an acceptance letter from TMCC? The reason I am asking is that they provide you there with a package code in order to print the paperwork needed for your drug test.

You would go to www.certifiedbackground.com, enter your information and the package code, pay the $55.00 fee, then you receive an e-mail with instructions. The instructions basically say that you can go to any Labcorp to take the drug test. It is a urine test, and it is really fast, about 10-15 minutes if you are ready to go and do not have to stay in the waiting room to drink water :) FYI: I have to tell you, do not flush the toilet after collection, a girl who was there in the same time I was, did flush and had to stay there for another 3 hours until she was ready to go give a sample again... 3 hours in which you can not leave the waiting room.

You can set up an appointment with Labcorp through their web-site, but no appointment is needed. I am thinking you could combine that with your CPR trip as some Labcorps open early in the morning. They do list 2 different schedules, one is for their hours, and a different one for when they do drug tests. Please let me know if there is anything else you would like to know! See you in September!
