TMCC Fall 2011

U.S.A. Nevada

Does anyone have any idea when they will or if they have begun sending out the acceptance letters for the Fall? Its crazy to me that they wait so long to tell you. Makes it hard to plan!

I will check with the office to find out if anyone has declined for Spring, as well as double check there was indeed 100% acceptance for Fall. I don't mean to sound naive, however, what is the deal with the Good Neighbor status? It seems like it's complicating everything. Any other questions anyone wants me to ask tomorrow?

Good neighbor is just a classification for people who live in California in the counties immediately next to Nevada. They were cutting us a break in tuition and also considering us along side Nevada residents so we weren't considered out of state. They just took it away for new students, not sure how that will apply for nursing program selection next year!

If you haven't gone in yet, best of luck :0)

Bio, I am biting my nails for you! I can't imagine that you won't get in, somebody has to have another opportunity that they are pursuing! Sleniz should be able to give a good update when she's done. :paw:

:0) I am crossing my fingers, toes, everything :0)

I think that perhaps I will be visiting the office as planned, but on Thursday.

A couple of years ago my sister got a certified letter literally the day before the first day of school, so no matter what keep your heads up!

Spring students have until Thursday to accept. Thus far there has not been one decline.

Sorry for my late response. I went up yesterday as planned and met with -------. I'm at 7.15 and 10th or 12th on the list. I think her main concern was not wanting to give any false hope. She did say they had a good response, but not 100% for fall or spring. I had 3 "What If" reports. One was my AA Nursing degree and the GPA on the report was EXACTLY what she had - literally every class that counts toward the degree, English, Math, Sciences, PSC, etc. The HESI was calculated on only 6 sections: #1 Reading Comprehension, #6 Grammar, #7 Vocabulary, #8 Biology, #10 A&P & #11 Math. Adding these 6 sections and dividing by 6 the 25 should give you your score. She went on to say its a great score and she recommended not retaking a bunch of stuff as my grades were good. Just to apply next year. She said deadline would be back in Dec/Jan, CNA would be a requirement and a Med Term class (pass/fail - no GPA calculation). I left still hopeful that everything happens for a reason and maybe this year will give me time with the new baby. Thanks for the bright comment Laura. I'm still thinking anything could happened between now and Spring start. I'll throw myself into the new baby as soon as it arrives (11 days!) and ask Santa for and acceptance letter for Christmas! Congrats to all who made it! And please keep posting if you get letters!

Sleniz tHank you for such an informative post!

Good luck with the new baby! You are right, keep hoping that Santa will give up a letter for xmas! :)
