There actually is a formal way to sign your name.
The proper way to sign your name if you are a BSN is
Your Name, BSN, RN
There was a posting addressing this exact subject earlier do a search for the posts and find it.
The rational was degrees are forever, licenses can be given up or taken away.
Finally certifications are time limited so they follow the licenses.

Technically the degree should go first, then licensure, then certifications.
The information is out there in journals, but people either don't take the time to find it or just don't care.
Look at physicians. You will see things like Joe Smith, M.D., FACPS or whatever the board cert initials are. (I made that one up). The M.D. is the degree and everything else comes after.

I have always just used RN after my name and now have some questions. What is the difference between the following?:
Mary Smith, RN
Mary Smith, BSN
Mary Smith, RN, BSN
I am doing some independent assessments for a law firm and wish to know what is the best way to title myself.
