I am going to start my vaccines in November. Can someone please explain to me why I cannot get a titer for TDaP?
Thanks!

Because it doesn't exist??? It's unnecessary?? It's a vaccine that only lasts for 10 years???

There are titers....they are expensive.....but.....Because of the resurgence of pertussis and immunity titers drop continually...the CDC now recommends that

as of 10/26/05 by the CDC for an adult regardless of interval since last Td immunization

Probably because most place don't offere a tdap titer because they are expensive and its better just to get revaxed since you need to do it every 10 years anyway. Most titers out of pocket cost is over $50. A tdap vax shot is under $30. Even if you got one last year but don't have a record of it, it is cheaper to just get vaxed again.
