I was accepted to the May ADN class . But now I'm nervous because I know I don't have good study habits. I just wanted to get some input from some people that are the totally opposite. What works best for you? Taping lectures? Reading chapters, and highlighting? Index cards? I feel like sometimes I read the entire chapter and I absorb absolutely nothing. I listen to the lectures and try to write down everything that was said instead of the key points. I want to do my absolute best in the program, and I don't want this to stop me. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
I like to chunk things down and bore my brain with repetition.
I'll take 5 note cards and study those for 10 min. I like to use my cell phone's alarm clock w/snooze, for this.
Every night i'll read over every note card once prior to sleep. I do the nordictrack everyday intensely for 15 min. I feel more alert and sharp if i'm exercising.

I did not have good study habits few years ago. I used to wait last minute to study. Now, I stay on top of every class. I just purchased a digital recorder by Olympus. I started using it last week before, I was using a tape recorder. I downloaded the lectures to my computer and listen while I type. I am planning to purchase "dragon naturally speaking", a program to help transfer voice to text. It will make my life easier. I purchased it at amazon for $56, at Radio Shack it is $100. You can record up to 24 hours of lecture. It is a ws100 Olympus.
