Hello Fellow Nurse Entrepreneurs,
I wanted to share 7 tips for anyone wanting to become
a Nurse Entrepreneur.
1. It will NOT BE EASY.
You will encounter obstacles in many forms and opposition from many sources, some will even surprise you. What is important is to always keep your FOCUS and your VISION as number one priority. Forget the Naysayers.
2. You MUST FAIL in order to SUCCEED.
The faster you fail the faster you will learn and adjust accordingly. There is no better way to get experience than by failing.
Thinking back, I must have missed tons of IV starts before I became very proficient at starting IV's (ER background).
3. MENTORSHIP
Find and Follow a Good Mentor in your niche. Contact someone that has already accomplished what you want to accomplish and is in a place that you would like to be. Do not reinvent the wheel. Follow in their footsteps and learn from their mistakes.
4. IT TAKES GUTS
You will ask yourself many times, "Is this worth it?" , "Should I be doing this?", "Is it supposed to be this difficult?". YES, YES, & YES.
Just keep your head in the game and Focus on accomplishing small reachable goals first. Even if they only takes 5 minutes to accomplish. This will help build momentum and get some traction and excitement going.
5. FOCUS ON ONE THING
There are great mechanics out there. Would you rather have a great mechanic to fix your transmission or have a mechanic that only works, fixes and rebuilds transmissions work on YOUR car.
Its better to go inch wide and mile deep, than mile wide and inch deep in your niche.
6. CONSISTENCY
You must be consistent in your daily actions. A 1,000 mile journey starts with one step.
Make a daily to do list with 5 business goals and 2 personal goals Monday through Friday. On weekends make a to do list with 5 personal goals and 2 business goals. To help ensure good work life balance.
7. GIVE VALUE
Focus on your niche, and FOCUS on giving compelling, relevant and informative value for FREE. Don't give everything away for free, save your best stuff for paying clients and customers.
Might sound counter intuitive at first. Giving compelling value is a great way to establish TRUST, CREDIBILITY & provides an avenue that will help build long term relationships.
Hope this helps in some way to anyone thinking about becoming a Nurse Entrepreneur. Good luck in all your feature endeavors.
One last thought,
Enjoy the Journey!

Some great advice Nursepreneur. I especially like number 2 and 5. I believe every failure brings you one step closer to success and if you are all over the place you will become a jack of all trades instead of an expert in your niche. Thanks, keep them coming.
Thanks Surg-Onc RN,
appreciate the feedback, I look back in my Nursing Career and I have done many mistakes.
From those failures and mistakes I have always learned and have shared my mistakes and stories with new nurses so they can learn from my mistakes and hopefully make them better nurses.
Experience whether good or bad is one of the best teachers.

A fortune cookie I opened once said: Failure is feedback. And feedback is the breakfast of champions!
I have it posted on my computer so I can read it every day.
