Hey everyone,
I just got my license after finishing my ADN program in December. I'm starting the job hunting process and am a bit overwhelmed with the number of hospitals. But my main worry is that many of them avoid new grads like the plague. I willing to work at any hospital on any floor as long as its in Acute Care (I can't do SNF's, I'd rather go back to being a CNA then work SNF's again).
Does anyone know of hospitals/units that are hiring ADN new grads or any upcoming job fairs. I'm looking at all over orange county, San Bernadine and into LA as well.
Thanks everyone

Hi,
You're going to find a LOT of competition in So Cal. A lot. Most hospitals require you to have a BSN or that you will have it by a certain date. Look on here for postings about applications that are opening up and go to employment websites, like Indeed, and search for "new grad rn" or something similar. And get a list of hospitals, then go to their websites and read about their requirements.
Good luck!

LA County hospitals hire new grads, regardless of degree. Also hospitals like California Hospital Medical Center, Centinela Hospital, Long Beach Memorial also hire New Grad ADN nurses. There are jobs out there, you just have to know where to look. I suggest creating a job alert on job sites like Indeed and Glassdoor, you can also go to specific hospitals' career page and create a job alert there so you will know whenever a position matching your qualifications opens up. Good luck!

Most major hospitals have new grad training programs, but they are highly competitive. I have seen a lot of surgery departments that will hire ADNs and they often have their own separate training programs for their RNs, so look into that. The San Joaquin Valley has a lot of RN jobs and not enough applicants. Good luck.
