Kaiser New Grad Program
Kaiser applications open very briefly, so you have to be diligent about checking their website. Sometimes they list the position as "Inexperienced" rather than "New Grad," fyi. The New Grad RN calendar shows the next training will be in October, 2018. Kaiser tends to hire from within, and employees of other KP locales (LA, Northern CA, etc.) who are transferring will also be competing for spots. The interview process is rather bizarre, too. I don't know if it's changed, but the training used to take place at various locations, not just the location at which you were hired.

Some Hypothetical Situations...
Since your name is "FutureNurse" I take it you will be a new grad. What are you basing the $90,000 on? Some areas in CA pay that, but others-- no way! Higher cost of living areas do not necessarily pay more. And remember, the competition here is crazy!

Cedars-Sinai 2018 May New Grad Program
They take around 30 new grads. It's various med-surg floors; no ER, L&D, etc.

Accept PCA offer at Hoag or wait for new grad RN position in California?
I would jump on the PCA job! Hoag is a top hospital. I know the hospital well, and I know they receive roughly 1000 applications a month. No, I am not exaggerating. Most hospitals around here received 700-1000 applications. There is no shortage of nurses here and the competition is crazy. I was told last year that Hoag's new grad program has been postponed until this summer, which tells you they don't need new RNs. Most hospitals around here will take the experienced new grad. I have had talks with people at Hoag (through my affiliation with them via a community program they sponsor) and they will move their PCAs into their new grad program. It certainly can't hurt to talk to their HR about it, for your peace of mind. This market is tough. And you need your CA RN license in hand when you start. There are plenty of licensed CA RNs the hospitals can choose. Good luck! This SoCal is a struggle, but it all works out eventually.

1st Job Help
Look on this site regarding qualifications for RN Residency programs, and also go to the hospital's website. You will probably need to apply to every new grad position you can find near you. Just keep applying! You need to spend some time researching and applying, double-check that resume for keywords, and don't give up! But really, waiting for one job isn't realistic. I doubt HR will tell you why they didn't hire you. Many do not want the discussion, are too busy, and then there's liability issues. Do you really want two RN jobs? You might get burned-out fast. Good luck!

Tips for Job Hunting in So-Cal
Hi, You're going to find a LOT of competition in So Cal. A lot. Most hospitals require you to have a BSN or that you will have it by a certain date. Look on here for postings about applications that are opening up and go to employment websites, like Indeed, and search for "new grad rn" or something similar. And get a list of hospitals, then go to their websites and read about their requirements. Good luck!
