Tips for a band 6 interview

Published

I've applied for a band 6 in Accident and Emergency and the interview is in a few weeks.

I was hoping for any advice or tips on what to expect and which subjects to look into.

I've been looking at the clinical indicators recently set and a few other topics but I'm finding

I keep straying away from what is probably needed and ending up with pages and pages to

go through.

Any tips will be much appreciated

What is band 6?

A sister/charge nurse or the old f grade.

Specializes in Spinal Cord injuries, Emergency+EMS.

probably better posted in the UK nursing forum

Moved to the UK forum

Is this a band 6 deputy manager or band 6 senior staff nurse?

What area are you going to be interviewing for, it'll help structure the advice you will get a bit better

Specializes in Advanced Practice, surgery.

Opps just saw the A and E comment

Lots of the stuff you will find in my interview advise.

Think about waiting times, dealing with capacity issues, dealing with staff and HR issues etc

What kind of pressures are you and your staff under, what ideas have you got to resolve them.

How do you motivate and lead a team of nurses

Thanks a lot for all your advice, it's really helpful.
