Does the computer want the RIGHT answer, OR is it partly looking for your QUICK RESPONSE to the question or medical problem???
Is that part of the passing or fail outcome?? Could it be that is why some fail-because the computer's time clock thinks they are not answering the question in a timely manner?? For instance someone answers 205 questions in 4 1/2 hours, and someone answers 205 questions in 3 hours. What are your thoughts? Maybe a dumb question...but is timing a part of it......or is timing everything?????

Timing has absolutely nothing to do with pass-fail decisions. Nor does getting question 265 wrong or question 75 right. Nor does morning vs. afternoon time slots. It's okay to have these concerns, but they are all completely unfounded and you're doing yourself a great disservice by worrying about them. Concentrate on getting comfortable with questions by answering a boatload of them.
I know...I know...I was just wondering out loud. Some pass at 205, and some fail at 205. Thanks.
Oh, I didn't mean to sound rude; sorry about that. Just keep up with questions and you'll do fine. All the best!

The NCLEX is not your typical "get 75% of the questions right and you pass" type of test. It's a little more complicated than that.
As you answer NCLEX questions, the computer plots your progress. Usually, you start out with easier questions on a certain category. As you answer questions correctly, you get harder questions until the computer decides you have a good understanding of that topic and you move on. Likewise, if you are answering questions wrong, the computer will move you along after deciding you do not understand the topic. You will keep answering questions until you either definitively fall above or below the baseline.
Some people reach this mark after 75 questions. For other people, it takes longer. Some are randomly selected to answer all the questions regardless of their score.
Hope this helps!

The computer is looking for the right answer. Don't make this into something harder than it already is.
