So it was my second time taking the Nclex. First time I did all 265 questions, didn't pass. Waited 5 months to re-take, studied for only 3 weeks (I know I know.. i was lazy). I used the blue Saunders book(It's Amazing), I did every chapter except peds/ob but paid for it because every other questions on the nclex for me was peds/ob.. I was obviously very weak in the area, then prioritizng/delegation book(also amazing) and the Kaplan Q bank (Paid $300 but worth every cent).
So I went in yesterday. I took my time because I wanted it to shut off at 75 questions.. (Took like 2x breaks lol) but the freakin questions kept coming and coming.. 100, then 150, then 200... at that point I wanted to take another break and punch a wall but couldn't cause short on time. Got to 246 questions and ran out of time.
So I got home and did some research. Found out if time runs out they look at the last 60 questions which ALL of them have to be above passing. I was sure I failed. I smelled DOOM. I slept in bed all morning 'til 1pm. I didn't want to check to see if I passed. Finally had the balls, went on to see and bam.. saw my license number!.. unbelievable.
-My advice: Don't expect it to shut off at 75 questions, be ready to take all 265. Best of luck

Humble it up, prepare for the war (265) stay strong, study up, make a schedule, stick to it, follow through your weak areas,
I hated psych with a passion, I study so much of it( from therapeutic talk, all the meeds, all conditions, all at risk fors...) that I can say for sure I did not miss 1 of the 8 psych questions I had!
