Tidewater Community College Spring 2021

Published

I could not find a board started for the Spring 2021 school year at Tidewater Community College. Just thought I'd open one up for any applicants on here.

When I called a couple weeks ago she said decisions will be mailed between Oct 15th and Nov 15th

I don't know If I can handle November 15th deadline LOL! That honestly doesn't give us a whole lot of time to get things done before January with all this covid stuff slowing everything down!

Hello everyone! I'm so glad I found this forum wish I found this forum earlier!! I, too, submitted my Spring 2021 application and waiting for their response. I've been utilizing my meditation app on my phone to ease my anxiety LOL Glad to know I'm not alone!! FYI: I emailed her about the 45th percentile awhile back, Mrs. Wilson said she's not supposed to disclose this information to students LOL (and yeah, I asked LOL) SO, I've calculated the class average last week and I got 77.71 and the 45th percentile should be 2-3 points lower than the class average or very close to the class average. If I'm remembering it correctly, the 45the percentile in 2018 was 73, 80 in 2019, and 81.45--- got it from zoom meeting, in 2020 (I don't remember the exact numbers for 2018 & 2019 and I got this information from reading ALL posts from the forum to ease my anxiety) LOL. Hope this helps!

Good morning Rachel! Welcome to the group of stressed with us ?

Hi Rachel! Thanks for the info! That makes me feel a tiny bit better!

Thank you Rachel, that sounds promising! Looks like we all have a good chance of getting in. Now let’s just hope the number of spots goes up ?

30 spots is what I'm worried about I don't think it'll happen.. but maybe I'm being too pessimistic. Has anyone seen or heard of them changing the seats this late ?

Anytime!! @Obxpirate I see what you're saying. I just checked on TCC website and Intro to Nursing Concept class availability is still 30 ? I'm not sure about why they reduced the seat availability from 60 to 30!! I really want to know why tho LOL I guess the applicant pool for Spring 2021 is not as large as last year??? or it's because of COVID like you guys said in this forum LOL Let's stay positive until we hear anything from the Nursing Dean!!

I'm scared if the regular start only has 30 seats that the LPN advanced start is even less?

The lower number of applicants could change but more seats aren’t guaranteed and it’s because of COVID. That’s what I found out. Hopefully this whole anxious waiting thing gets a little easier to deal with!

What do they mean the lower applicant number could change?
