Tidewater Community College Spring 2017

Published

Hey everyone! I'm turning in my application this July for the spring 2017 start! I'm so excited! However I will have one class in progress (microbiology) and was wondering if anyone knows if this will hurt my chances of getting accepted. I'm going to take my HESI mid June so I don't have that score yet! Any help or advice is appreciated!

Did you double-space it?

Was anyone able to get their High school transcripts sent to them? Or did you have them mailed to the school? how did you get yours? I can't get mine mailed to me, the websites will only send it to the school and I completely forgot I needed to get my transcripts so I'm freaking out a bit!

Did you go to high school around here? I used parchment.com. Try calling the high school you went to also. I'm pretty sure it states that they want transcripts mailed to you

If you went to high school around here, you can call the school and see if you can pick them up. That's what I did! You may have to pay for them though, but mine were only $5.

I'm gonna try. So I just talked to the people in the office if the nursing school and she told me with out having micro completed or chemistry I might not even be eligible to apply... I'm so upset. So.many people get in with missing classes. Do any of you know of anyone to get accepted with out micro or chem

Hello to all!

I [FINALLY] turned in my application for the Spring 2017 cohorts. What a relief! I have completed all of my pre-reqs except for A&P 142 and Phi 226, which I'll be taking in the fall. I have A's in everything, except for my English classes I received B's. I have a previous Bachelor's from ODU with a 3.45 GPA. I scored an 88.8% on my HESI. If anyone has any insight please fill me in!!! I'm anxious for Oct. 15!! Good luck to everyone :)

Has anyone looked into concurrent enrollment with ODU?

I was actually interested in that! I'm going to graduate with my general studies associates after this fall semester so I believe that should cover majority if not all of the pre-reqs for BSN. So I would just have to take the remainder of the nursing courses.

I looked at the curriculum--I will still need statistics, and one of the chemistries. And then I think I would be good also

Starting a new thread for Tidewater Community College (TCC) nursing applicants!

I submitted my application yesterday for the Spring 2017 semester (evening and weekend cohort). I have a BA in psychology with minimal background in science and math (however I did take advanced math and science courses in high school with an A average...fingers crossed that'll count for something). I completed Micro and Statistics with an A this summer and am taking A&P 1 and PHI 220 in the Fall. I scored a 90 on the HESI (completely bombed A&P...hopefully the administration will look past this since I'm enrolled in it now). If I don't get in this year, I have a stellar backup plan and will reapply next year (completing all of my prerequisites for TCC and ODU's concurrent program in the interim).

Comment and ask any questions. I hope to see you all in the Spring!

Just finished my HESI and got an 84%. Turning in my application in the next few days with B in A&P1 and Micro (no retakes) and A in everything else. I'm still missing A&P2 but fingers crossed it doesn't hurt my chances since I need the nights and weekends schedule that only classes up in the spring.
