Tidewater Community College Spring 2017

Published

Hey everyone! I'm turning in my application this July for the spring 2017 start! I'm so excited! However I will have one class in progress (microbiology) and was wondering if anyone knows if this will hurt my chances of getting accepted. I'm going to take my HESI mid June so I don't have that score yet! Any help or advice is appreciated!

the syllabus? do we wait for that to be given to us on 12/7?

Specializes in ICU.

On yesterday, I met with my ODU Concurrent Advisor (Marena-Hill Bartos) via WebEx. This is how my classes are scheduled:

Spring 2017: NURS 401 (4 credits)

Summer 2017: NURS 363 (3 credits) and NURS 492 (3 credits)

Fall 2017: NURS 306 (4 credits) and NURS 414,415,and 416 (these are 1 credit classes)

Spring 2018: NURS 402 (3 credits) NURS 417 (1 credit) and NURS 490W

Summer 2018: NURS 403 (4 Credits) and you get to choose ONE of these classes: NURS 455, 456, 457 or HLSC 405

August 2018: GRADUATE!!!!

Now, this is the way she advised I complete the curriculum and I thought it was great. Not too many classes or too much pressure while progressing through TCC's nursing program. (at least for myself) However, if you wanted to take less classes, you could. She was very helpful. By the way, like everyone else said, you can use financial aid only with one school. Either TCC or ODU.

I plan on paying out of pocket at TCC-can you still qualify for financial aid at ODU if it's less than 6 credits? I'm not sure if financial aid works differently at ODU than TCC---hope I didn't sound too confusing lol

For ODU, are you required to have chemistry done when you apply to the program?

Nevermind! Saw that is needs to be completed before you turn in your application!

Thanks for the information! I will be applying once I complete chemistry. Its good to know that they allow you to pace yourself.

What are the requirements for ODU? Any information is appreciated!

mbtsab, Do you know what time the orientation is? Is it 9:00 A.M.? Or does anyone know what time it starts? I can't seem to find my acceptance paper; however, with two little girls god only knows where it is!!

Wednesday December 7th from 9am to 1230pm in the Student Center Multipurpose Room in Business attire.

it is from 900-1230pm.

how is everyones ck list coming along? I still need to get liability and the rest of my physical done this week. this is a lot of work--ha

I finished all of my stuff a few weeks ago. I guess this is the one thing being in the military was good for, I already had all my vaccines done. It's a huge relief to be done and submitted, especially going into finals.

Hey y'all! The orientation is near and i'm super excited!! Hopefully we will get to actually meet each other!! Do any of you know what the code was to purchase the nursing ?
