Tidewater Community College Spring 2017

Published

Hey everyone! I'm turning in my application this July for the spring 2017 start! I'm so excited! However I will have one class in progress (microbiology) and was wondering if anyone knows if this will hurt my chances of getting accepted. I'm going to take my HESI mid June so I don't have that score yet! Any help or advice is appreciated!

My tuition assistance only covers the base tuition for 12 credit hours per year (no technology fees, student activity fees, etc) so everything else is out my own pocket.

I will be paying out of pocket as well. I maxed my pell grant at previous schools. Hopefully, I can get a scholarship or 2 but so far, no luck. I did apply for TCC's general scholarship. The deadline is November 11th. Notifications are sent out in December if you are selected.

And by the way, I just rechecked TCC's scholarship opportunities online. They have added quite a few since I last visited. They have a Fred W Beazley scholarship. It doesn't require an essay or anything. There may be others you may qualify for. Here's the link: http://www.tcc.edu/paying-for-tcc/financial-aid/scholarship

I will be paying out of pocket. Unfortunately I don't get much from FASFA either because I already have a Bachelor's Degree. Any advice on different payment options/aids is appreciated!

I am paying out of pocket too. Trying to get scholarships as well.

I am having issues with the background check stuff. Can anyone guide me through that who had success? I don't know the school code it asks for and when I called they gave a wedsite link that didn't work. Thanks in advance

@Lsmith12 The school code is on the the first page of the certified profile paper that came with your acceptance package. It's in red next to background check. There's also another code for drug test only below it. It's in the center of the page.

I applied to ODU concurrent enrollment program and was accepted. I had all of my prerequisites for ODU except for 1 upper general ed course (300-400). I just received an email from Andy at ODU this afternoon. I submitted my application on Wednesday after receiving an acceptance letter from TCC on Monday. Is anyone else going this route or has any insight on their program?

Oh my goodness thanks so much! I forgot all about that form I ended up calling castle branch and getting the codes from them

I plan to apply to ODU's concurrent program also! But I think I may need to redo Chemistry since I dropped out of the lab portion during Undergrad. I'm nervous about starting in the Spring; especially with the intense 6 credit class I keep hearing about

Congrats to you on acceptance. I considered it but didn't apply because I don't have chemistry completed and I am still completing A&P (I didn't know what was required to be completed before submitting)

I was going to apply but I am worried that I may overload myself---how many credits are you taking at ODU?
