Tidewater Community College RN program fall 2014

Published

Hi! I was wondering, are there anyone here that are trying to apply for TCC's RN program this fall 2014? How are the applications going?

I'm hoping to get in this fall maybe we'll get in together :-) I just took my hesi today and I'm getting the rest of my transcripts on Tuesday then I'm going to submit my application. I know the wait is going to feel like forever though.

When is the last day to apply?

March 15th is the deadline for the fall start

If y'all don't mind me asking, what are y'all's gpa and hesi scores?

My gpa is what really concerns me I have a 3.3 because I got a C in a&p 1 but I have an A in micro and a&p 2. I did get a 90.57 on my hesi so I'm hoping that carries me

Well that's good, your hesi score is great. I'm still debating if I should apply or not. My gpa isn't up there as well and I haven't taken the hesi yet either

Yay!! I thought no one will ever respond to my post :) anyways, i've done all the pre-reqs, gathered all my paperworks. Only thing I haven't done is my Hesi exam which I scheduled for the 3rd of March. I'm actually pregnant & not due until the 28th of March but something came up & they're inducing me today. I don't know how long i'll be at the hospital but I sure hope that I'll have enough time to take the hesi exam (although i might have to re-sched) and turn my application on time.

I know most of ya'll went to the orientation, the lady said that they only take 120 students per yr and 300+ students apply all year round. I Don't mean to sound so negative here, but have you guys thought about other alternative programs beside TCC's? I like to be prepared (just in case I dont get selected the first time) but I haven't thought of other rn programs out there. Just want to know yall's input :)

I'll have my bachelor's degree in another field in May so if I don't get in this round that will give me more points next time I apply. I also thought about retaking a&p 1 this summer? I have to pay out of pocket so Tcc really is my main choice. Congrats on the little one!

Yea I'm also applying for sentara bsn program that starts January 2015 and riverside for the fall start...

I'm applying to Hampton's satellite campus for the accelerated BSN fall start but I'm also applying for TCC's Spring start just in case that doesn't work out. I would apply for Fall but i haven't taken my HESI yet and haven't taken A&PII either but plan to during the summer. Question though, would you recommend taking the HESI before A&P2 or is that something I'll need for the test?

In my opinion it was easier to take the hesi after a&p 2. They asked a few questions from a&p 2. I got a 92 on that section.
