Tidewater Community College 2013-2014 Nursing

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone, I would like to start a new thread for all the nursing students who got accepted into the Tidewater Community College Beazley School of Nursing 2013-2014. I will be starting in the August cohort and would like to meet some of my future class mates. If you are in another cohort, please add to the thread and we can all share information. Best of luck to everyone who will be nursing students this fall and spring!

Congrats!!! I'm cohort 4 too. So excited to start!

Got accepted into Cohort 4. So excited. Congrats to all!

My friend got cohort 3 and wants to switch to be with me in cohort 4. We are going to call to see what she needs to do to switch tomorrow.

Congrats to everyone that got in!!

hey let me know what needs to be done. I want to switch to cohort 3 from 4. I sent you a message.

It wont let me send a private message I guess since I have not posted to many times but I called the school and they told me to ask at the Required Nursing orientation we have to go to on Dec. 10th. My friend will be with me so she can get the details that day as well. We have gone through classes together and she wants to stay together through RN program. We will look for you at the meeting.

Hey you all! I am getting ready to sign up for a BLS class through Northstar 1st response and wanted to share in case anyone wants to join me. They are located at 809 Greenbrier suite 206-208, chesapeake, VA. Not sure which one I'm going to do but they have a class from 5pm-9pm on December 17 and also one from 9am-1pm on December 18. If anyone wants to join me let me know and we can decide which one works for our schedules. Also the cost is $70 with the text or $60 without the text.

Hi and congrats to all. I was accepted as an "alternate"...not quite sure how that works insofar as financial aid, ordering books, uniforms....etc. I found out that there are approximately 20 on the alternates list, however, they will not tell you what your ranking is on that list (whether you are on the top, middle or bottom of it). They hold the list until classes start for Cohort 4 in March - that is a long 4 month wait....long...after 2 months of already waiting. Alternates have to do exactly what everyone else that is accepted does, right down to attending the mandatory orientation on Dec. 10th. I'm wondering how you order books for classes that you could "potentially" be starting in January for Cohort 3...or not....or for Cohort 4...or not...I guess you order the books and uniforms just in case, or you don't have them if you get the call. What a nightmare.. Would almost be better to be flat out denied instead of all this up-in-the-air stuff for 4 months.

Any other alternates out there for Spring 2014 - Cohorts 3 or 4??? Or any from a previous Cohort that had alternates - have any idea about how that works????? Please let me know....

Hi everyone! I was accepted into cohort 3, but have already accepted a spot in Thomas Nelsons program. Congrats to everyone who got in!

Congratulations to all who were accepted into TCC Nursing program, and to those who have a "dual acceptance" at TCC and other Nursing Programs.

I have a favor to ask of those of you who were accepted to TCC Nursing program, who were also accepted at another program. If you are planning on attending another program other than TCC, please, please, please - notify TCC Nursing program (at the number in your letter of acceptance) that you are NOT attending TCC as quickly as possible. The lives of the "alternates" are hanging in the balance for a seat to open up for Spring of 2014 in either Cohort 3 or 4, and we would all be very grateful to those of you who are not planning on attending TCC to notify TCC immediately, so that we may receive "that call" sooner rather than later. The wait is horrible and the unknown even worse.

Again, congrats to everyone. I am an alternate and hope to be joining you and meeting all of you on this journey.

I was on vacation in the New Mexico desert when I got my acceptance letter! Cohort 4 see you all at the orientation on December 10th!!

Michael

I will be starting this program at TCC in January 2014 (Cohort 4)! I am very nervous! :)
