Well. Here we Aaron April 17. Still have about a month to go before we will receive letters of acceptance, rejection or alternate. I've been through this wait before and have been on the alternate list for the jan-Mae 2013 cohorts - the waiting is the worst part. I decided to continue taking classes toward my BSN since I have all of the pre-reqs done for the program. So, taking a humanities a history and a math (toward statistics) during this summer. I am hopeful that this will keep me busy enough that the wait won't seem so horrid. How many have applied???? We should all chat it up and meet here before the program. We can give each other that much needed support now, and continue that through the program. Would like to meet those that hopefully will be going through the program at the same time.

That is a pretty good score on the HESI. If your grades are mostly A's (a couple of B's won't hurt, especially if not in the sciences) then you should be fine. I am just hanging out waiting until March 12 (the next big Alternate update) to see if a seat does open up for March...otherwise, I am in the waiting game until the letters come out sometime in May. I have all of my pre-reqs done and scored pretty well on the HESI as well. I have all A's and 2 B's, however, the B's were in Micro and BIO 141....B's in the sciences hurt. Just really tired of this waiting game...ready to get on with it.

I look forward to meeting you. When did you apply last? This is my second time around - still on the alternate list for march - but I am not holding my breath that a seat opens up. It will be a long wait until may when they start sending out letters for the fall cohorts. Keep in touch and let me know how your progress is going. Hi to all who have applied to the Beazley School of Nursing/Tidewater Community College for the Fall 2014 Cohorts. It will be nice to meet all who applied, and to lean on each other during this time of waiting for acceptance letters!!! I wish the best to all who applied and hope to meet you here and in class when classes start in October/November of 2014. I have been through the application process already for the Spring 2014 Cohorts, and am currently on the Alternates list until classes start in March. I have also attended the mandatory orientation, ordered uniforms and the skills kit. I have a little information that you may find useful. Good luck everyone!!!

Hi everyone. Thought I would start a thread for those who have applied to Tidewater Community College's Beazley School of Nursing for the Fall 2014 Cohorts. Here we can sweat out our acceptance letters together and any concerns or questions may be able to be answered. It will also give all of us a chance to pre-meet prior to starting classes. I wish everyone the best of luck and hope we all get in.

Hi Nurseinthemaking. Thank you for responding and for the wonderful words of encouragement. I find myself sitting here, yet again, waiting for "that call" to come to pull me off the alternate list for the March 2014 Cohort. Beazley email says the "next big update for alternates" will be between March 7-12, 2014 - so while I am not holding my breath (need a break from the let downs) - I do hope the call comes. I have reapplied for the fall 2014 cohorts of August and October. I am in no way giving up - it has been a long hard journey thus far, but I know it will be well worth it in the end. I was hoping to not have to wait so long (august,october) to get in, but it is looking like that is where I am heading. It was difficult to attend the mandatory orientation, order uniforms and skills kit "just in case" you got the call - then to not get the call...aghh. I hope you are doing well with your classes and I wish you the best of luck through the course of the program. You sound as though you will make a fantastic nurse. Best of Luck

Congratulations to all who were accepted into TCC Nursing program, and to those who have a "dual acceptance" at TCC and other Nursing Programs. I have a favor to ask of those of you who were accepted to TCC Nursing program, who were also accepted at another program. If you are planning on attending another program other than TCC, please, please, please - notify TCC Nursing program (at the number in your letter of acceptance) that you are NOT attending TCC as quickly as possible. The lives of the "alternates" are hanging in the balance for a seat to open up for Spring of 2014 in either Cohort 3 or 4, and we would all be very grateful to those of you who are not planning on attending TCC to notify TCC immediately, so that we may receive "that call" sooner rather than later. The wait is horrible and the unknown even worse. Again, congrats to everyone. I am an alternate and hope to be joining you and meeting all of you on this journey.

Hi and congrats to all. I was accepted as an "alternate"...not quite sure how that works insofar as financial aid, ordering books, uniforms....etc. I found out that there are approximately 20 on the alternates list, however, they will not tell you what your ranking is on that list (whether you are on the top, middle or bottom of it). They hold the list until classes start for Cohort 4 in March - that is a long 4 month wait....long...after 2 months of already waiting. Alternates have to do exactly what everyone else that is accepted does, right down to attending the mandatory orientation on Dec. 10th. I'm wondering how you order books for classes that you could "potentially" be starting in January for Cohort 3...or not....or for Cohort 4...or not...I guess you order the books and uniforms just in case, or you don't have them if you get the call. What a nightmare.. Would almost be better to be flat out denied instead of all this up-in-the-air stuff for 4 months. Any other alternates out there for Spring 2014 - Cohorts 3 or 4??? Or any from a previous Cohort that had alternates - have any idea about how that works????? Please let me know....
