Tidewater Community College Fall 2016

Published

Hey everyone! I wanted to make a new thread for anyone applying now for Fall 2016 start.? I am finishing up my last prerequisite class this semester and I will be taking the HESI exam this week.

Thank you RNMichi2be!

Mindy - do you know where you are on the waiting list? Just curious if they give you that info or not...

No they don't give out that information. Are you on the alternates list as well?

Just curious because I know a couple people that applied at tcc and odu and have already tegistered for ODU's classes...

Oh ok so they're not going to TCC nursing program?

That's correct...they applied and were accepted into both and are going to ODU's BSN program instead. So keep your head up! I'm sure they know how many people a year on average do not accept admittance and generate wait lists based on that.

Thanks so much! I am keeping my head up and still have my fingers crossed!

Hey guys! Just wanted to check in on everyone starting the nursing program this Fall. Has anyone started getting their vaccination records and completing the other health requirements to start the program? We only have a month until orientation! Time is surely flying, it seems like yesterday we received our letters. I look forward to hearing from you all :)

I went in to see my PCP May 31st to get mine done, I'm going back to get my 2nd PPD read this week and I will have my vaccination record ready for upload. I would suggest getting this requirement done ASAP since you never know what you may or may not need to get done.

I agree RNMichi2be, getting the vaccination requirements done ASAP is best! I don't have a PCP and I was calling around to find one that was accepting new patients. The earliest appointment I could get was July 15th, and that was just to put me in as a new patient. She proceeded to tell me I would then have to set up another appointment to get the packet complete. She told me my best bet was to get it done at an urgent care which I did. It also helped that my local Health Department had a record of all my shots so that made my visit to the urgent care quick. I received my signed packet from the physician the next day.

FutureRN0425, you're lucky you still had access to your vaccination records. Mine were with my pediatrician and they are now locked away in storage so it would have been more of a job to get them out. I highly suggest to get a head start on this requirements to avoid any potential mishaps that may occur.

RNMichi2be they said mines were locked away in storage too, so yes I was lucky that the Health Department had a copy. I guess the only thing left is to go to orientation. I really looking forward to the day.
