  1. I do know we are suppose wear our scrubs the first day of class since it is a lab day. I asked about that at orientation. For everything else, I am unsure. I will mostly likely keep all my supplies in the car as well. I have not gotten my nursing kit yet, the bookstore said it would be available for pick up on Wednesday.
  2. Thanks RNMichi2be ! I think I will try on a pair of the Timberland Pro Renova's and see how I like them.
  3. It's been almost a month since orientation and I'm sure everyone is preparing for the upcoming semester. I have a couple questions that maybe some of you could help me out with. Does it matter what type of nursing shoes we get as long as they are white? Are their any nursing supplies I should consider getting since the first day of class is a lab day?
  4. @Scoontz, I got my physical and vaccinations done at an urgent care since I don't have a PCP. I was able to pick up my paper the next day after they received my titter results. I took the schools CPR class last spring. As for the insurance, I have yet to get that...I would say try to get your CPR certification as soon as possible. I had to wait a few weeks to receive my CPR card in the mail.
  5. It's okay lol. Yes, we can still exchange info at orientation if they don't. I'm sure I will find you guys one way or another. I can only imagine how many of us will be there. Only a hand full is on this site...There was a little talk about starting a Facebook page for Cohort 1 but I am unsure of one at moment.
  6. You're welcome! I'm Shaquille by the way lol. Samantha is Scoontz...It would be great if they do have us meet with our cohorts. That way we could exchange information. Its never too early to set up study groups. Its going to be long two years!
  7. Congratulations Mindy! Welcome to Cohort 1, I look forward to meeting each of you.
  8. I'm in the August start. Seems like a majority of the people on this thread is in the October start.
  9. RNMichi2be they said mines were locked away in storage too, so yes I was lucky that the Health Department had a copy. I guess the only thing left is to go to orientation. I really looking forward to the day.
  10. I agree RNMichi2be, getting the vaccination requirements done ASAP is best! I don't have a PCP and I was calling around to find one that was accepting new patients. The earliest appointment I could get was July 15th, and that was just to put me in as a new patient. She proceeded to tell me I would then have to set up another appointment to get the packet complete. She told me my best bet was to get it done at an urgent care which I did. It also helped that my local Health Department had a record of all my shots so that made my visit to the urgent care quick. I received my signed packet from the physician the next day.
  11. Hey guys! Just wanted to check in on everyone starting the nursing program this Fall. Has anyone started getting their vaccination records and completing the other health requirements to start the program? We only have a month until orientation! Time is surely flying, it seems like yesterday we received our letters. I look forward to hearing from you all :)
  12. Congrats!!! I was rooting for you to get in!
  13. Hi Samantha, my name is Shaquille. As you already know, I am in Cohort 1 as well ! We have all worked so hard to get to this point and now we all have the pleasure of starting this journey through the nursing program together. I cant wait to meet everyone at the orientation in July!
  14. Thank you Scoontz!! Words can't describe how I am feeling at this moment. But yes, I'm surprised not as many people are on this site as it was in previous years. I will definitely be checking the new thread daily. I am not sure about the Facebook group but I will hold off too on that. Ssathia1 I agree with Scoontz, I would call up to the school tomorrow if you dont get it.
  15. I got my letter today! I got accepted into cohort 1 !!!!
