Stars that would be great if they could take her for a week

Ado glad that we don't have to deal with scorpions here

Hi Dianah

NJ22 getting colder her too although we have not yet had a freeze

Was a pretty good day at work, no meetings and only a little busy during the morning.  And no new cases...until the end of the day when I got yet another one.  Was able to get the prep work done before leaving, will do the calling today

After work decided to go out and get the shiitake mushrooms that I forgot to get yesterday, as well as mace which is one of the ingredients for the spice mix for the fall Chex mix.  I skipped Trader Joes, I knew they had shiitakes but their spice selection was limited.  Surprisingly none of the other 3 stores I tried had either mace or shiitake mushrooms. Odd.  Rest of the evening was quiet, just exercised

Have a meeting today at work, work schedule isn't bad so hopefully the meeting won't screw things up too much. After work need to get a haircut, and stop at the library and Trader Joes

Will similar weather as to yesterday, cooler and in the mid 60s

I called and cancelled Momo's appt with the vet for noon today. I woke up with a case of the galloping crud and I don't feel like taking the chance of having to unsuccessfully squeeze my cheeks during the outing. I can take some lomotil, sure, but I don't want to have an 'accident' in public. I feel like my mother, who used to write the best excuse notes for me in elementary school: "Please excuse Stars' absence; she was kept home due to epigastric distress." She always elevated the notes with medical terms rather than saying it another more common way.

I still have to go down and get Nannie up. I'll be back in a while....

I made the mistake of getting the new covid vaccine when I went to the pharmacy yesterday. So had a rough night but starting to feel better now.

ado~ Sorry the vaccine made you feel so bad. I am soooo thankful that my body just says "Eh, okay, no biggie" whenever I get any kind of vaccine.

I have treated my bedding for stains....mostly INK on the top of my comforter (!)....and it is in the laundry. Otherwise I am going to take it easy today. Heck, I might even take a nap, who knows! Though I am not much of a napper, it's nice to know I can do so if I need to! I did wake up 15 minutes before my alarm clock went off at 10 AM, and we know that is a mite early for me these days! I did have my 'normal' wake-ups at 3:30 AM, 4:30 AM, and 5:30 AM.....not sure what that's about, but it is pretty routine, and at least I don't have too much trouble falling back asleep each time, after about 20 minutes.

Anyway, I am going to try to avoid political news today, because I saw the news yesterday and last night, and it is kind of sickening. Maybe it's my nerves causing the diarrhea; I do have IBS-D, which is frequently set off by my gut-responses to my emotional state. I hope the majority of the long lines (and lines, and lines (!) wrapped around buildings and sidewalks) of voter's they showed at many polling stations are NOT trying to get Trump voted in. What that General said about him is scary. But I don't want to talk politics here, so I  will hush my puppies about that.

Pretty soon it will be time to check the washer and dryer. Hot-diggity-dog. I'm going to drink a nice hot cup of bone-broth to see how that sets with my gut, and then....on with the day (such as it is!)

Yanno, there is always tomorrow!

G'day.

I read the last two days of posts.

The last two days were rather busy but bleh.  Yesterday I worked the floor with 6:1 and you know I hate that.  Today I was in charge but had no secretary.  We had a really dramatic drop in census from 36 to 19 and this includes getting five admissions.  Left the night shift with lots of beds and I hope they don't get slammed.

Otherwise doing okay.  I decided to make a withdrawal from one of my retirement accounts that I've already paid taxes on to cover expenses from the hurricane as they come up and the $6,000 deductible.  I can relax a bit but am bummed nonetheless.  But I try to stay thankful.
