Tweety I hope the leak in the garage roof proves to be the only hurricane damage you have.  Seems like the Atlantic coast got hit with a lot of tornadoes

Hi Ado and Dianah

Was a good day at work, got a new case in the afternoon but otherwise was a quiet day.  Fast only lasted 16 hours, I think I've learned that I should only fast after a day when I've gone off diet, otherwise I just get too drained

The evening was quiet too, just ran some errands and found the remaining ingredients for the Halloween Chex mix I'm making for the potluck at the end of the month

Today should be a quiet one, just exercise after work

Another cool day in the low 70s

Good Lord, I have been without my laptop since Monday night and it's been KILLIN' me not to be able to use it! I don't know why the screen froze up, but nothing I did made a bit of difference. I called a guy who used to be our neighbor, who is a computer guy, and he said he will check his work schedule to find out when he'd be free to come over and straighten my laptop out. But, last night I unplugged it and set it aside, and lo and behold, this morning (actually at noon) the computer was working and I got on here to see how y'all fared during the "weather event". I watched a lot of the Weather Channel on TV so I didn't feel totally removed from the world. I've been fretting about Tweety, and my friend who gifted me with Momo, as she lives somewhere down there in Florida also, Was interested to see how Sarasota was doing, since that's where I was in the big storm in 1993. Lots of places really, really got hit pretty badly with this storm (like nobody knows that., huh?) I was worried about all the trash being propelled back at the houses that were cleared out the days before!

Tweety I am so sorry to hear about George's cat, but at least you said it was 'comfortable' and with its person, and that's a good thing., I wonder if it's passed now? Do you think George will get another cat, or is it too soon to say? // Hope your leaky garage roof doesn't extend to your house!

Welp. today is Thursday and the Chatty CG called SiL and said she wouldn't be coming today because she doesn't feel well. SiL has taken her grand-dgt to a pumpkin festival, and said she'd call me later. Don't know why. I already told her we were fine and don't need anything. Same old same old, doncha know. We should Chatty CG one Thursday off every month because that seems like her normal work schedule these days! Oh well!

j22, Glad your nose/face are starting to feel/look a little better. NO MORE FACE PLANTS, even if you are a Master Gardener!

ado, "Gee it's good to be back home again...." I know that feeling, but haven't had any chance to experience it yet! Except here on my laptop this morning!

Well, back to the job at hand..... I thought Nannie was sleeping, but I just looked over at her and she smiled at me and said, "I'm about to fall asleep." I told her to go ahead, nothing is planned for this afternoon and no one is coming over, so doze away!

I've done the three to four days worth of dishes in the kitchen sink and am half-way through doing my janitorial work, as tomorrow is trash pick-up day. Guess I'll dawdle around and do some odd tasks and hope Nannie goes deeply asleep!

Anyway, you know, like Ahhhnold Swartzenegger said....." I'll be back!" 😋

Hello all!

We have been diligently keeping up with Hurricane Milton (I suppose it could be termed a HIM-icane, yes?), worried about Tweety and other friends in the affected areas.  Scary to read about the tornadoes!  I see cleanup etc is proceeding apace in N.C., after Helene.  Y'all stay SAFE.

No Stars, good you got your laptop back!  Yah, anytime one acts up or freezes, dh (retired Systems Analyst) says "re-boot."  In the case of the screen freeze (I almost typed 'screeze,' which would be a No Stars wordling!), a hard re-boot would be your only option: unplug it, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in and see what it does.  Ah, computers.  Such a love-hate relationship!

Joe, hope you got to make the Halloween Chex Mix, for your mixer.

I slept OK last night, and today went for my semi-annual dental cleaning.  Then I stopped in for my Covid vaccine/booster.  When I got home, I made the pumpkin chili.  I found a recipe for a white chicken chili that I might try next.  Sunday dh and I will meet with the band to go over songs for our friend's graveside service on the 18th.   Temperatures have been in the high 80's to the low 90's, which is SO nice, compared to 102!!

Have a good evening!

Good evening.

We are safe.  It was intense.  My back yard flooded into the Florida room and was an easy clean up. Rood leaked in several spots.  Otherwise faired okay.

Best friend did  not do so well.   Freaky situation from above flooded him.. and 7 othersl condos, making it unlivable for now.  He will stay with me potentially a long time.  He'd do the same for me.

No power again.  😭

Hi. Of course, thoughts are with Tweety. It looks like the brunt of the storm missed him, as he previously posted. Those tornadoes were scary to see!

It was a nice, cool day here. I have managed to stay upright, for a whole week! Whilst gardening at the demo garden yesterday, I was kneeling on my banged up knee, and it is extra sore today. And the bruise is fading to a lovely green, LOL. I've been doing some recycling chores: garden waste to the compost, paper and cardboard to the bin on the front porch. I keep it there to keep it dry until the biweekly pickup.

My little dog has been a real pill, with chewing things that are not hers. As of late, she seems attracted to dh's shoes. Argh! There are dog toys everywhere, but she always finds his shoes, and has nearly destroyed his fancy slip-ons.

I looked up Halloween Chex mix. Yes please. I may be one of the few people in the civilized world that likes Candy Corn.

Hugs, Tweety! Thats for the update!
